    Hey guys, hope you found this video useful - I'm a big fan of the Vivoactive 3. What are your thoughts? What other trackers are on your radar right now?

      Its because his arms are huge. Obviously he actually works out and used the watch for that purpose. He's not one of those guys who runs with it like once and then thinks they know everything about the fitness aspect.

    I love my vevo 3 got it for 130.00 on Amazon. Nice buy and good price. Love how easy it is to navigate and such. And its ideal for the basic things a smart watch should do. No overly bells amd whistles. Great video and now subscribing yay Garmin.

      Garmin is first and foremost fitness tracker company and all smart features are secondary. So this basically shits on devices of all well known companies such as apple and samsung and even fitbit when it comes to fitness and sport tracking.

    Great review! The wrist based heart rate monitors work well for running but things like freeletics (burpees etc.) they don’t work as they shift around a lot. Anyway a strap work well then.

    Not sure why this is on Android Authority, as it runs a propriety GPS, but either way, it's a decent review!
    I have an odd issue with mine, where the strength and cardio activities record GPS, even when it's set to off. Annoying, but not the end of the world.

    Well balanced review, thx! I'm wondering why this is the best model with touchscreen. It would be nice if Garmin could add touchscreen and speak to call fxn on its Fenix line and I would feel better about replacing my Frontier 3. In the meantime I guess this is the best replacement for someone like me who like the weight scale integration and the Garmin ecosystem.

    Hi I wanted to know if, when you are doing an interval training, the time left or the distance left until the rest phase is shown ?
    I am asking if because apparently you can not see time or distance left when doing intervals.
    I also wanted to know if you can manually go to the next interval ? (for example, let's say you are on the treadmill and you want to go to rest phase after a certain distance (given by the treadmill). What I mean is that I don't want to use the distance calculated by the watch but I would rather use the distance given by the treadmill which should be more precise.

    Hi great reviews love to watch them.
    I go to the gym alot due to my job. I am a fire fighter. So I am on call alot. So I don't get out much but when i do i love to hike and biking and running.
    Which would be better sunnto spartan sport wrist hr baro or the Garmin forerunner 935 or fenix 5. I want something that can do rep counting show cadence vo2 max vertical oscillation ground contact time stride length lactate threshold recovery time epic hr max hr zones.
    So if you could recommend one it would be great thank you

  • @alexc6946
    @alexc6946 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    I bet Garmin would have been able to add outdoor swimming tracking to this watch very easily. Problem is that then it would be hard to justify paying hundreds more for their top-tier watches like the Fenix 5. That said, the Apple Watch is not much more cost-wise and it has all the sensors the Garmin has - and it tracks outdoor swimming. Too bad because I like the look of this watch much more than the Apple

    • @AdamSinicki
      @AdamSinicki 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Lol, all I mean is that the previous models were kind of black and massive - not something my wife or anyone with a smaller wrist would probably want to wear. The combo of watch design and especially with the white color scheme makes it look at least a little more unisex. Still room for improvement in that regard though.

    Could you compare them with Samsung gear Sport? I am deciding between those two, both seem like a decent choice for a sport-smartwatch

    • @darpinian1
      @darpinian1 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      If you have the money to spend, get the Gear S3. Samsung Pay has made it so I haven't carried my wallet in months. I have my music stored on the watch and I just go....it also has E-Sim so it can be used without your phone. I'm not a huge fan of Samsung's fitness tracking, but when it comes to running its generally on point, the heart rate sensor is a joke, but in the end it comes down your fitness goals. The Gear is more of a laymans piece. The Vivoactive is pretty much everything great about the Fenix 5 with a touch screen. Its just better at what its supposed to do(fitness), while its only decent at the things its still new to (smartwatch.) If you want more smartwatch than fitness tracker, go with the Samsung, if you want more fitness tracker than smartwatch then go Vivoactive

    • @marekvedral6891
      @marekvedral6891 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      darpinian1 Thanks, I considered the gear 3 frontier, but shorter battery life and fewer sports to choose from kept me away from buying. But the gear sport watches seem like a good alternative to Vivoactive, so I would like to know the differences

    • @AdamSinicki
      @AdamSinicki 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      darpinian1 Good answer thanks. If you want the best of both then the fitbit ionic might be a good option: music, pay and fitness. Im reviewing that next so stay tuned :-) Note that this does have Garmin pay just no music storage.

    • @darpinian1
      @darpinian1 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I get about 3 days from my Gear S3 Frontier. I charge it when I shower and I've literally never had to worry about it dying in the past 6 months. You can easily get a few days without a charge. I work out 5-6 days a week, I run about 60 miles per week. I don't typically track my gym workouts because I've been doing it so long I don't really worry, about progress. I found that the Gear S3 has a really good GPS for tracking my runs and its generally a smoother experience in literally every category. The Vivoactive is great purely due to its utility. The fitness tracking is great (as expected) viewing things on your phone or computer is a great experience. You can really track the progress if that's your sort of thing. Its a mess trying to look at individual workouts from months ago on my Gear S3. However with Garmin, I can look through individual workouts, and have great access to information to track progress. Its just BETTER at what it does. Because the watch isn't trying to be fancy with animations and what not, I've been able to squeeze 4-5 days out of the Vivoactive....again, this isn't a big deal either way except for if you do 3 day hiking trips or things of that sort. If you want a better alternative to the Vivoactive purely based on capabilities then you have to look at the Fitbit Ionic...its an ugly but entirely capable monstrosity.

    • @darpinian1
      @darpinian1 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah the Fitbit is nice, I just don't like the fit and finish of it. It has all the bells and whistles and certainly has more room to grow on the software side of things...but its just built to scream (I'M A FITNESS TRACKER) and as such its not something I could wear daily, however I do have one coming for a review as well. When business compete, the consumers win.

      @koome it depends what you want e.g. fitbits are very popular but they are very inaccurate in terms of activity and heart rate. So, if you are a casual guy who wants to count the steps and water intake etc. get fitbit charge 2. But if you are serious about ur game and cannot compromise on accuracy then your best options is garmin vivosmart HR but it will cost you. Secondly, it depends on what kind of activity you are in. If you want a tracker for running only then you cannot go wrong with Polar M430 and ftibit surge. I am not considering looks here cx polar may be too ugly for many people but its accuracy and functionality that matters. If you want a tracker for hiking and calorie burn, most accurate one's are from Suunto

      Haha! Admission: I wore the gloves because I think they look cool in videos. I never wear them unless I'm filming >-D
