Looks a bit dangerous for the driver who might have made an innocent navigational error. How about a nice shock absorbing net instead? Wouldn’t make such a mess.
You are the person that drives down a railway line because the satnav said so. When driving using your eyes and brains in kinda of a big part of it if you think its acceptable to attempt to drive at bollards or tall steel gates because you want to go that way, you deserve that hospital trip.

If you hit a barrier blocking access at any speed you’ve dropped the ball more than, “oh, wrong street I’ll turn around” not “Hey! That barriers in the way drop a gear and close my eyes it will move for me!!”
