- I’ve wanted to watch Paris Roubaix for a long time.
My first big goal for the year is in May, chasing the FKT along Spains 775km Camino de Santiago and my coach and I worked out that I needed one big training block before then.
My creative mind got working and given I choose to ride Specialized’s endurance focussed Roubaix SL8 bike, figured it was the perfect opportunity to take the bike on a PROPER outing and hit two birds with one stone...

That small masonry arch bridge scene at 3:49 -- my mother (she was from Belgium) created a large and detailed oil painting of it in the 1970s. Brings back memories.

Great ride, well done with that mileage in the rain! How did you navigate getting food at the supermarkets with the bike after going solo on day 3? Are you taking it in or locking it up outside?
Thanks mate 🙌🏽 I took the bike inside with me and removed the front axle, then used the helmet to deter anyone from taking it. Kept my eyes fixed on it too!
Great vlog and some great footage. Did you handhold the selfie stick for the insta360 shots or have some hidden mounts? Your hands looked very much on the bars so didn't seem like you were holding.
All handheld against my hood! Or sitting on the pole 😂😂

I used komoot to plan this one mate, it was 98% faultless. Just a few hairily ‘busy’ roads I’d have preferred to detour around!

I took a little wall charger and charged it each night at my accomodation. I’d generally get 2 days between charges 👌🏽👌🏽
