Dark elixir has so much importance from town hall 14 onwards. I am still finishing upgrades for dark elixir as some of my final upgrades for builders and lab. It has gotten easier to get, but can be more tedious at times to farm.
The problem with this statement is that you need to get to th14 in the first place, to be able to MAYBE spend something you start gathering at th7, because there's not enough to spend it on, and it's all in the last 3 townhalls.
@@jonoxes8662 I find that its not used between th10-12 that much because the hero added for th11 doesnt use de, i was full for a while until th13, 25 levels of the rc really drains it.
I didn't ever feel the need to get DE on 13 as well. Collecting gold and elixir fills those up and it overflows for days. Even tho I have got AQ to max and RC to 15, never felt a lack of DE. I usually use the excess on lab and use a book on it so that it doesn't delay my actually intended upgrades. Pets should be introduced at 13 and RC level should be capped at 15 or 20. That'll help get rid of the excess and u need a builder constantly on the heroes and still waste a lot of DE. I have 6 builders and still feel it's not enough.

@@deadlystalker7483 bro you should upgrade your th because in this way you won't be upgrading anything till months and upgrading heroes on higher lv is much easier then upgrading them on low lv and it also gives you a strategic advantage cause you can boost your heroes to max lv anytime you want .
Not for me, lol. I always have a shortage of dark elixir. 3 heroes need it. 1 level costs me around 250k now. I need like 20 such lvl for all heroes. It's not including pets and laboratory, which drains dark elixir even more. I wish i could convert elixir to dark one because standard elixir is useless except for walls and laboratory since troop cost was removed.
I def get a lot of dark elixer but upgrading heroes uses a lot of it and when im really upgrading heroes a lot, i definitely do not feel like I have too much.. Its just that the window where you can use it is more limited. If their were more uses for it in smaller amounts that would fix the problems.
Todays situation with the fireball from the warden can be used pretty much the same as back then when lighning worked on storages. I get tons of dark elexier and other ressources just by placing the warden, activating him, and leaving after ive got the loot. Works even better than spells tbh bc no downtime at all
i think its still special cause we have to spend dark elixir in different places like pets heroes and laboratory that sometimes it becomes a grind to keep your upgrades going
I remember back in the day at th7 it felt like a massive grind to et enough DE for my king. I attacked 20 times a day getting like 50-100 DE per attack, only to lose most of it on defense. It took me a good month or two untiul i finally got enough for my king and it felt amazing to finally get it
The reason Dark Elixir doesn't feel special anymore to me is because of how easy it is to obtain now. We didn't have the runes for it, the star bonus, or the occasional clan games. With such small quantities available I never trained DE troops because why waste my hero upgrade stuff on minions(which are my favorite troop now even if I don't use them a lot)
The ironic thing is. The value of dark elexir changed, because dark elexir never changed. All through th7-12 at least, there are only 3 things to spend dark elexir on. 1-2 Heroes and dark elexir troops. Before dark elexir was scarce enough to balance with the 3 things you spent it on. But now there are more ways to get dark elexir. But nothing more to spend it on at those 6 townhalls at least. And the cost of troops and heroes just don't keep up. Troop upgrades are slow and you can only do 1 at a time. All while you probably are doing regular elexir troops too. So each upgrade is like 3-7 days which is already enough to fill your storage. But then if you upgrade a normal elexir troop inbetween, you can double that time. Heroes are also long and slow, but what's more. If you're actively attacking, you don't want your heroes to be down every day for weeks or months. Especially not if you're in wars, which you have to be to get enough ores. And as with the troops, you will upgrade other things with your builders. Leaving no time to use all that dark elexir. There are super troops now. But they last for 3 days when you activate. I just can't spend the dark elexir.
If they let you upgrade walls with dark elixir then that would be a game changer as I'm genuinely sick of having an abundance of the stuff at times. Plus the whole "Dark Barracks" feels a little obsolete now because troops don't cost D.E. Then again, Heroes, Pets, Dark Troops in the laboratory and the Monolith all demand D.E so I guess it has its uses, even if most times it just awkwardly builds up after some farming.
I really liked when you had to attack TH8s as a TH7 to get Dark Elixir. I think they added Drills to TH7A at the right time, when the time taken to get from TH7 to TH8 was pretty short anyways
Anyone saying they dark elixir is too easy is average it below, because if you were above average and had to grind for the lab + 3 heroes + hero pets, you wouldn't say it's easy. As a th15, my storage nearly never gets full
When you first get dark elixir surprisingly thats when you least have to use it. If I’m correct, I believe there are literally 2 things that use dark elixir at that level, heroes and upgrading dark elixir troops. If you are good at raiding, you will always have too much dark elixir as you can’t really dump it into walls or whatever at that level. The thing I’m confused about is why everything dark elixir related costs regular elixir, I mean I understand that they want regular elixir to be useful (as after removing troop training costs it wasn’t used for much), but it just leads to dark elixir being even more useless. This isn’t like how it used to be. As it kinda made sense it was only used for like 1 thing, but now, with how much DE you can easily get, it kinda just feels worthless.
My brain is still configured to treat DE like that. But really, it's not even remotely close to the nightmare it used to be. Nowadays upgrading heroes is a nightmare because of time and there are countless levels, not because of DE.
I wish they kept TH7 not having a dark elixir drill so they can focus on looting it more. Not that it matters coz you'll just be passing through it for a few days.
im putting my th on upgrade on 20th april so that i'll have the th boost for may cwl im scared as hell because i know there's 40 hero levels and 46 pet levels 😭 frosty phoenix and diggy will be my top priority though

What makes the game fun is fighting so you can have your upgrade, nowadays it's very easy to get tons of loot and all 5 of my builders are busy all the time for WEEKS on end cuz building time is through the roof which means even if i just connect to harvest resources I'm never running out no matter what... kinda boring

It is still special , bcoz it is need to be grinded for upgrading pets .
Now you don’t even have to worry about DE you can just train any army you want, I love it.

Just wait till you're th14 and need to upgrade 4 pets and 3 heroes for DE. Th15 gives 4 more pets and a new DE building as well.
I'm at th11 now and somehow got ALL my resources maxed, excluding builder base. Am hoping it'll be less of an issue on higher town halls
It’s much less of an issue. You get less and less loot saved up as you go up in townhalls
Even with super charging the troops it's still overflow when maxing the every TH base I have. But for the rushed base it's not an issue.
And when they released the Sneaky Goblin, Super wall break. Oh no even TH16 can be looted easily.
