For anyone about to try this, If it feels sticky too much botanical gel is on the hair and more water should be on the hair. Double gelling with a botanical gel is taught in the Black Curl Magic, Wash Your Damn Hair book. They have videos on how they professionally apply uncle funky's daughter and set the hair on different hair types. They wait about 10 minutes in between the first and second gel and use less of the topper gel to prevent stickiness.
It ended up not being sticky; so I did something right. I actually liked this combo so I will definitely try it again. Thanks for sharing your tip with everyone.

@@mrskrivers An update, so many people now have damaged hair doing this method. Please consider using moisturizers like the ones from she scent it or curl origin or Camille rose style setter then go ahead and add curl maker or something. These people are not taking responsibility for the damaged caused. I will delete the original comment once I know you have it Mrs Krivers.
@thecure3982 thank you for the update. Have been using a leave-in conditioner or a moisturizer under my gels. I did try this method with and without a moisturizer I wasn't a fan of the uncle funkies but it's good for my mom. I like something with more hold. When I was natural years ago and even now my hair tends to like wet line gel and S curl activator🤷🏿♀️

I’m so glad I saw this video . I tried this combo but instead of using Wetline gel I used Trepadora Papaya Slip Taming Potion and my hair came out fabulous. This is my first successful wash & go for me. Please do a video on how you stretch your hair

i think the unkle funky is like a curl activator so its good u used a gel bc the hold isn't strong. I actually use the same combo since I had it laying around lol

@@NaturalRaeRae it was great i loved the two together. it had great slip and a little went a very long way! i would see myself using it in the future again once the bottle runs out but idk its so pricey lol

Hi Rae! Hope all is well. I have type 4 hair as well and your hair looks AWESOME!! I am a Wetline fan. Never tried the blue top. Currently using the green top. I am definitely going to try this combo this weekend. Have you continued using this combo or have you moved on? If you have moved on, what have you moved on to? TIA.
Hi! Thank you. I no longer use this combo because I don't care for the Uncle Funky's Curly Magic. I also prefer bigger, fluffier hair now so I barely use the Wetline gel anymore. I will use it if I need longevity, but that is seldom. I can't say what I use now because I use a lot of different combos on my hair. I think the best thing to do is just go through my wash and go playlist and see what you think might work for you. But, if this combo works for you, I'd say stick with it so you don't have to try so many things. Thanks for the question and for tuning in.💛
