  • This is part-4 of Interaction/Contact errors in Abaqus. "Too many attempts made for this increment" is one of the most common error in Abaqus interactions. Let's understand.
    In the previous video, I theoretically explained all about contact calculation made by software and Overclosure issue. In this video, I considered a simple example with an Overclosure issue and discuss remedies.

    I like the way you present the problem description and its solution in the video. you're way is totally defferent and unique.
    Keep the good work going up.

      Dear,
      Types of contacts i already explained. Video available in contact playlist - SimTech05 channel.
      Normal and tangential behaviour I'll explain in subsequent videos.

    Dear sir, adjustment and no adjustment for finite sliding are available in STANDARD surface to surface as u presented. Yet,this option doesn't exist for EXPLICIT surface to surface contact.Why these options doesn't offer in Explicit contact?

    • @simtech0598
      @simtech0598  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Dear,
      Contact control options are available for explicit also but not Directly in contact defination. We need to define control individually otherwise it consider default one.

    Thanks sir for the AWESOME video..BTW, Can I modelling the actual condition of bolt with hole tolerance in the abaqus. Let say, the bolt size is 16mm while the hole size is 20mm. In this regard, there are 2mm gap tolerance btw both surface. Do the abaqus capable to run this modelling?or it will be an error due to surface contact issues? or the software will interpret the gap as an issue and automatically resolve the problem like the overclosure problem that u has presented in this video?...Or the modelling can be simplified by simply ignoring the tolerance gap btw those surfaces?..thanks in advance.

    • @simtech0598
      @simtech0598  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Dear,
      Tolerance model you can stimulate.
      More you can take different assembly and run simulation... you will get better idea.

  • @shuangbiaoliu6055

    Thank you for the video. But it seems that although the adjustment allow Abaqus to complete the simulation, the result is not reflecting the interference. So the adjustment did not really solve the issue, right? Do you have a way to solve the issue and get a proper solution?

    • @simtech0598
      @simtech0598  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Dear,
      Initial adjustment option is used when the unwanted small penetration of elements/nodes. It remove penetration without any stress development.
      On other hand...
      For press fit type of problem you need to introduce interference fit parameters in contact.

    Sir plz could you tell me how can fix value of minimum increment time when i change ot it go to oringinal value again not changet then when run model it give me too many attempt

  • @zainsaeed147
    @zainsaeed147 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    I am conducting uniaxial tensile test on a grouted sleeve connection...i was advised to do mesh convergence study before the velocity convergence ...i analyzed my model with different mesh sizes and plotted the load displacement curves..the models shows same peak load at mesh size of 10mm, 15 and 20mm but once i lower the mesh size i get the lower values of peak load. so should i consider that the solution got converged at 10mm. ??

    • @zainsaeed147
      @zainsaeed147 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      my expectation was that when i reduce the mesh size it should give me higher peak loads for the connection but vice versa happened

    • @simtech0598
      @simtech0598  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Dear,
      Mesh convergence means you will get near to constant value even if u reducing mesh size.
      If not then convergence study is incomplete.

    Sir, how to resolve this issue if we use orphan mesh imported from hypermesh.

    • @simtech0598
      @simtech0598  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Dear,
      If possible use adjust option to remove overclosure.
      If intersection of elements are excessive..you need to modify mesh.
