  • In this video very common Interaction/Contact errors are discussed as below -
***Error: too many attempts made for this increment
***Error: Slave surfaces and master surface intersect each other
***Warning: displacement increment for contact is too big
***The strain increment has exceed fifty time the strain to cause first yield at 110 points
***Excessive distortion at total 126 integration points

This how a FEM tutorial should be, rather than teaching us just the software. I am just a beginner in FEM and I deeply admire your great depth of knowledge in the field.

Dear sir, I hve problem regarding redundant constraint due to multiple constraint applied in a node. The situation is the steel stud in composite beam need to be assigned by two types of constraint which "embedded region constraint" of concrete in surrounding of steel stud surface and another one is "tied constraint" btw bottom surface of steel stud to steel beam. In this case, some nodes (specifically located at toe of steel stud) hve redundant constraint and abaqus has removed the tied constraint automatically. Consequently, no longer tied constraint exist btw steel stud and beam. This is unwanted removal. Can u suggest any technique on how to ensure both constraint can be applied without any deletion of constraint by abaqus?

3 nodes are used more than once as a slave node in *TIE keyword. These constraints are not removed either due to the presence of *CONSTRAINT CONTROLS,NO CHANGES keyword or because removing the constraints might affect the model. The nodes have been identified in node set ErrNodeOverconTieSlave.
Can anyone help me ? why this error occurs?

    • @simtech0598
      @simtech0598  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Dear,
In error itself it is clearly mentioned.
Some nodes used multiple time as slave. Make them as single slave surface Or flip master slave surface.

Thank you very for your comprehensive tutorial. I am currently modelling a compression of hollow circular shell between two plates, one fixed and one moving. the perimeter is exactly flushed with the plates during assembly but i still receive convergence error and somehow my mesh is distorted from square mesh to 3D triangular mesh when using general contact. May I ask how could i solve this problem. And with regards to self contact within the shell how would you model it to minimize the error? Thank you very much in advance.

As i can understand your problem, u not need to worry about guest plate BC's till there is no external loaf applied on it. You have to simply make connections between plate and trusses..and make sure the BC's on truss.
However, i need a clear picture of ur model. You can send me details on my mail id, available in description of video.

      Dear,
Lets consider a simple example. For F= kx
The know force F in vay gradually generally (for static cases), lets assume value of applied force is 10,000 N.
So at beginning of convergence solver not apply 10000 N load intentionally it increases gradually (1000, 2000, 3000.. and so on) if load value is to high...over solver unable to convergence even for initial increments.
