I love the upside down text behind the watercolour doodle, it makes the flowers pop off the page and draws your eye into the centre of the page! A happy accident that you can enjoy! Embrace the quirk, you are an amazing artist 💜💖💜
I love “pretty to look at”! This journal is lovely, and inspiring to me. I am trying to loosen up my use of materials to be more creative and less specifically goal-oriented, if that makes sense! Your journaling is helping me with this! Take care! 😊
Oh Steph! What a beautiful page! Listening to you is like listening to myself (except I don't have that beautiful accent!) Lol 😅 I am the worst when it comes to self-sabotage! I'm trying every day! Btw... thank you for stopping by my channel and commenting! That was so kind. Hugs & blessings...Kiki
You need to do more of these changes. This will help with your self sabotage. You made a pretty page there is nothing wrong with that. It will give you joy to look back at all the pages a little later from know and that is a great purpose! It will bring up fun memories that is a great purpose! If you would like more writing space for you then add a tag. But this is great to try new techniques new ideas practice your water color!! You have made a video every day! What an accomplishment!!!! That alone should bring you joy! Meg said something about how every day you make an interesting video! Wow I would be happy to be noticed and appreciated by Meg. Just keep trying! Love to watch you work! Dawn
I totally understand how you feel about making a journal without a purpose, hard for me specially when this is my first one. Enjoying the creativity part and looking for a good excuse to continue 🤭 Your idea of repeating previous used things is great, your page is beautiful. Thank you for sharing.
I thoroughly enjoy your videos and journalling style and i have learned so much. I have also started using my own stroppy sewing machine that i have not touched in many years as we never saw eye to eye, but now we are slowly becoming friends with the journalling pages. Thank you so much for sharing with us, and i look forward to learning more from you :)
the easiest way to make doilies grungy is to paint coffee onto them, rather than soak them. Or you could use watered down ink or watercolour. You can add more concentrated layers onto the frilly bits
Hi Steph, I have been enjoying your videos and crafty creations. I am a relative newcomer to collage and junk journalling and am learning a lot from you and the other participants of jjj2025. It sounds like you feel your art needs to be functional and I wonder if that would still be the case if there were less societal focus on productivity over creativity. It's an interesting thing to ponder as I don't think you are alone. One of the things I find that helps bring me joy is to focus on the act of creating (which I love), rather than the finished piece, which I may or may not love and rarely has any purpose! Here's hoping your art will bring you joy regardless of its purpose. 😃
Steph, I love this journal. Your style is very calming, and sometimes it's nice just to flip through and enjoy. Just allow yourself to enjoy it.
Such a lovely page. The green tissue paper added such depth to page. Fyi I didnt notice the text was upside down. The doodle is the focal point
I'm glad I wasn't the only one!

often limiting your supplies or size of journal can help you feel a bit freer, but keep on going and you will get into your own groove and style x
Yes, sometimes, less is best! Restful on the eye, but the unity of it moves the eye around. Lovely.
I love this page, Steph. It’s so fragile and beautiful. ❤ 🌸
I love when the writing is upside down or sideways! It adds character to the page :)
Great page. Loving the pink and the green😍
❤
Thank you
I, too have a hard time just making it to be looked at rather than being used. Yours is gorgeous!
Thank you so much 🙂
Simple yet lovely. I don’t mind the upside down book page. You are a joy to watch!
Thank you so much 🙂

it's so good to know that others feel the same
@hilltopviewjournals yes it is, it creates a connection and that inspired me to subscribe.

Oh that’s awesome news about your sewing machine!! They sure are prickly characters but can be amazing for your projects. It’s worth the effort 😂
How do you grunge up your paper doilies? My past few attempts have wrecked them or disintegrated them. Lush page 🥰

@@hilltopviewjournals Going on list to try again now, thank you 👍
