Great video Gabe. Tip: when deep-frying, listen for the sizzle. The fish will sizzle fast and hard and then suddenly the sizzle drops to more of a percolate. That's when all of the water is cooked out of the meat and that's the prime time to get the fish out of the oil. Works for anything deep-fried, chicken, turkey, etc.

Bluegabe, I just wanted to take a moment to thank you. Please allow me to explain. I lost my dad a little more than ten years ago, he was quite literally the most ingenious fisherman of all time, and catfishing was our favorite thing to do together. We would get there at nightfall and set up camp just offshore from the delta. I would set up the chairs and eventually when I was older, the beer cooler as well. We would fish all night long and he always filled his leaders. This one time when they weren't biting, not even with WD-40 sprayed on the bait. So he took a flashlight, turned it on. He then put it in a freezer bag with a rock and tossed it into the middle of the delta. Within the span of no more than five min, he brought in his first of many catfish. I brought in a few as well. He would have loved your soda bottle trick and would have been obsessed with it for months. I watched with tears of joy streaming down my eyes. Thank you so very much for the flashback.

Hunting and fishing should be mandatory qualifiers for politicians, let alone a real job. Hunting and fishing are too much 'work'. Plus that whole 'killing your food' thing. Great video.ive been using 2 liters for years.write line length on bottle.way easier than noodles.you can wrap line around bottle and just slide hook underneath line.plus for night fishing just throw a glow stick and some beads inside,well without liquid in them and now you have sound to hear and the light to find them.

Our secret weapon for catfish jugging on the Chattaoochee River is some chicken covered in either red kool aid powder or red jello powder and garlic powder! We mix it up and keep it in the fridge a day before fishing

My wife’s 90 year old granddad got one of those game cameras a couple years ago and loves it and checks it every other day. I borrowed my cousins big foot costume over Christmas break and walked out in front of that camera doing Bigfoot stuff. So a couple days later when he was going through the camera and saw the pictures he called the game warden and the local sheriff. Needless to say he was pretty pissed off at me for embarrassing him but that shit was funny as hell.

I've said this before under other videos on Gabe's channel: I LOVE Alabama........all of my people on my Dad's side have been living in north Alabama going back generations. I've lived in Florida mostly since 1969, when I was 7 yrs old......but I also lived in Alabama for a total of 5 yrs and always vacationed up there. I may move back up there when I retire. ( I'm 60 now. )
In GA we call it "jugging" guess that is universal, (use to use bleach jugs years ago)...still gotta have the right bait on the hook no matter what soft drink you are serving with it. You will get really big ones with southern style sweet tea! Cats love cut bait as well as live shad, shiners or minnows.

EXCELLENT Video! I have never heard of or seen either of you guys channels. But.... I live about 2 miles from the Chattahoochee in Pansey, Al. I'm pushing 60yo now and I grew up jugging, trot lining, and just any kind of fishing on that river... as well as deer hunting in this area. I gotta say.... you dudes are true examples of what a Southern man should be. Great vid, and i'm bout to check out more of yalls channels.
Never heard of this but gonna try it, I’ve run a lot of jugs/noodles in my life and just a tip, always toss the jug back in the water until you land the fish in case he makes a run for it you can let him go with the jug on, if your jug is in the boat he will break off the line every time.
Wish I had known y'all were in my neck of the woods....I would have come on over and said hello. Used to hunt with the holder clan at ft.rucker back in the day. I'm sure he is part of that family. We used to set out lines on the Chattahoochee and camp for four or five days. Tons of fun.....thanks for showing our little slice of heaven , here in southeast Alabama. Gabe, from one Floridian to another, you're one of the few native Floridians I've ever seen who doesn't like oysters, lol. I used to eat those things as long as there was more to throw in the steamer or even better, on damp burlap right over the hot coals of a fire pit. They taste even better on burlap over hot coals because they literally simmer in their own juices inside the shell.
Alabama does have mountains...the best of both worlds there,a beach in south Alabama and mountains in northern Alabama all very beautiful

Here in the Northwest we use Catfish as an excellent garden fertileizer. Most of us eat nothing but fresh water rainbow lake trout and emerald green crystal clear river stealhead and king salmon blue gill. Fresh water perch. Yummy nothing like some excellent dungeness crab. Can't beat the pacific west for fresh sea food.

I mix the zatarrains fish fry 50/50 with slap ya mama fish fry. But instead of hot sauce I use mustard. That catfish is tasty. You get more crunch than zatarrains alone.

We roll our fish in mustard in Louisiana. Gives it a great flavor. We just moved to Alabama, and they never heard of it, but loved it.

The smallest catfish there is larger than the ones we caught in Maine lake fishing, but they were so good! All we would do was gut them and cook them with the skin on and then peeled the skin off before eating!
The reason Coke didn't catch any fish is because they only came up and sniffed it. LOL

If you want to see mountains take I-70 West, once you cross the Kansas border, lift your jaw back up into place.

Never had much luck jug fishing. I remember watching one of my bottles get straight sunk for about 30 seconds and it floated back up with a broken line. I was using 50 lb test in a pond. Must have been a big ass catfish
We've caught plenty of Catfish jugging. Gold fish for bait, worked best for us. Lake Eufaula, Oklahoma.
