@BLACKSTA361If you look back too, fit wouldn’t have worked with LaMelo regardless. Even if Scoot hit his peak, they’re both ball-dominant PGs. Same reason Warriors passed on Melo with Steph being there. Miller actually looks like a better player than Scoot too.

He's not even the Blazers' greatest tragedy. Remember Greg Oden? 1st pick overall in the 2007 NBA Draft, right before Kevin Durant. Or Sam Bowie? 2nd pick overall in the 1984 NBA Draft, right before Michael Jordan. As far as drafting goes in Portland, Scoot is more of the norm than the exception. His draft is nowhere close to being the greatest tragedy.

    • @5star64

@@5star64 Irrelevant but let's go there. Oden was already injured when playing the NCAA Final yet, even with that red flag, they still chose him over KD, the leading scorer of the NCAA that year and, arguably the best player that year, along with Oden. But I wasn't calling Oden a bust. I was just saying that the Blazers choosing Oden over Durant is a greater tragedy than drafting Scoot. Even if Scoot ends up out of the league tomorrow, drafting Oden over Durant will remain a greater tragedy. You can't argue that. But their greatest tragedy still remains drafting Sam Bowie over Michael Jordan. Sam was an exceptional talent when healthy but, there's the rub. He already had health issues even in college. They had the chance to draft Jordan, the best player in college and the star of the US Olympic basketball team that year. What a shame.

    • @MrPhilbautista

@@almac9203 There are some people who said he should be no. 1 in a draft class that include Victor Wembanyama before the actual draft. Which means there are someone who said he is the better out of the 2. But okay let's forget the "better than Wemby" argument. At least a lot of people said he is that one prospect who will translate his skillset right away into the league, but seeing him struggle a lot means those judgement are wrong. Again I still believe he is good and can be great, but his label as the generational talent makes him look worse. If he didn't have that label I'm pretty sure people will see him a little better than what he receive now.

Ignite broke Green, Scoot and Kuminga. A league where "Top" prospects showcases not caring for results and competition was doomed for failure. The result is imminent for its too prospects struggling in the pros. Lol Overtime Elite was lesser in talent but atleast there was competition with similar people trying to get in the league much like the NCAA. Kuminga, Green and Scoot are all explosive and uber athletic players who needed to improve their IQ by playing in NCAA rather than a stupid program where nba vets gets stupidly jealous to prospects not caring for competition.

Portland wasn’t winning a ring with Dame no matter what they did. Neil Olshey had overpaid too many bad players. Trading that 3rd pick or Scoot wouldn’t have brought in an all star.
