    Great comparison, man!
    I first got the notched 250mm model and was delighted by its performance, it truly is a beast. I recently got the notched 160mm model and I just love it, such a tiny thing with such capacity and ease of cutting, it's great.
    From my experience so far, I can confidently say, that the notch makes a HUGE difference and I'm so glad I opted for these versions. Yes, it can be a little tricky sometimes, when you want to cut flat or smaller stuff, but being able to trap the material so close to the pivots, makes every cut SO MUCH easier and effortless.
    Cutting stuff with these great bolt cutters can become very addicting, but it can also be very therapeutic in some way, lol...

    You forgot to mention that these bolt cutters also have a ridged secondary jaw between the handles that can be used for gripping or crimping. I discovered this the other day. These things are awesome.

  • @jerrybobteasdale

    I used to carry a mini bolt cutter while fixing barbed-wire, electric fence wire, and high tensile fencing. A pocketable bolt cutter is a great tool, but it has a pretty narrow set of uses as compared to a pocketable side-cutter or set of diag's. For most users, a bigger bolt cutter is the one to get.

Knipex 150 Cobra and wrench and this 160 CoBolt for EDC , 180 Cobra around house and bigger Cobras for professional use.All are a MUST have. Another great review sir,thank you for your efforts.

      @@txtoolcrib I think you are probably right. I may have the 8" version with comfort grip. I'll have to check. I wonder why no comfort grip option though?
      Comfort grip is not great for EDC probably but if you use it often it seems like a logical option for me, at work.
      The Knipex high leverage side cutters are nearly as good at cutting "piano wire" etc., although they are probably longer

    How would the 160 cutters compare to Wave or Spirit cutters? I EDC a Spirit, a PS4 and a Crocotool, so would these 160 cutters offer more capability? Are there cutters the size of the Cobra XS that are better than the Spirit cutters?

    • @txtoolcrib
      @txtoolcrib  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      The 160’s are about 6 1/4” long. So they are quite a bit longer than the wave. As far as how these cutters compare to any multi tool out there, there isn’t a multi tool in the world that can cut better than these.
