Thank you very much! After sifting through forced advertising on the net, you answered a few of my questions! A person that actually goes on the water and not a garage.
Hiya. I am a kayaker. I prefer not to have electronics but an incident in the Pacific really put the fear of storms in me... You can get in really big trouble fast, and without a gps, navigating back to the harbor has a really big pucker factor. So, I am now getting a gps chart plotter, and I guess a sonar, why not. Does the Helix 5 have a big enough screen for my older eyes to read? Does a 6 or 7 inch screen fit on a kayak? Does the Helix 5 have low frequency for deep ocean fishing and high frequency for freshwater fishing? Does the gps chart plotter function well? I am very concerned with this as it is the only reason I am getting a fish finder. Is it simple and effective? I plan on using it when I guide in the ocean and in a swamp. Both places have a high risk of getting lost.
How did you get the View at 2:22-2:24 (split with different freq's)? Which transducer are you using. My unit is a Helix 5 All Season. I don't see what you're showing anywhere in Views. Thanks!
The transducer wire that hooks to the unit should have 3 prongs. One will be for temperature. Start by looking for that. If it has 2 prongs that means it doesn’t have the temp sensor. If it has 3 then it means it’s not compatible.
Well... basically youve just scrolled through and read all of the settings and did not explain anything about them or how they work. I'll give you a thumbs up anyway.

Finally someone who reviews it in the water
Sure would be cool to be able to hook that up to the Minn Kota iPilot, and have it follow a course you normally like to work.
Excellent Vid. Many tks

Good vid.
I have the same unit with Navionics.

It’s a nice little lake. I live just down the road.

Please i need to know if humming bird basemap cover south america venezuela for helix 5 gps
Is this the 411660-1 model..
I’m using the one that is built into the Minn Kota fortrex trolling motor
That’s probably the problem. It either doesn’t have the temp sensor in it or if it does, it’s not compatible with the Helix 5

Where's the FISH ?
How do you set the temp up
Mine will not show
Thank you
Are you using the transducer that came with the unit? Or an older existing one?
