Thanks mate. We hear so much waffle about this and the truth is it is not a problem. We need to adjust the tappet clearances at some time in the near future. That is going to be fun as we cannot see the timing marks. 😉 Sail Safe mate. Ant & Cid

On my new/old sailboat (Amel Sharki), the Yanmar 4JH5E raw water pump is even more difficult to access, so I use an extractor that screws up on a threaded impeller.

Wanted to add the hpoto of the extractor with impeller but seems not possible here 🙂

Good info about the blade direction- it’s so confusing when you are upside down installing these and trying to remember which way!

Yes you do. Some are paper and some pumps have an O ring on the front. I think we did a video in Mersin with your pumps. Be sure the shaft is not worn on the old pump Peter. Sail Safe mate. Ant & Cid

It depends on the type of rubber that your impeller is made from. It should be ok if it is not EPDM. Sail Safe mate. Ant & Cid
