@@laureloneiros1500definitely room for improvement :) IMO biggest mistake was trying to end the game on argents / not transitioning off argents sooner. Also not shown in observing (no disrespect to Adico) was the excellent CONSTANT harassment on my eco the whole game.

👌 I think it will be good, especially for new players coming into the RTS scene. I barely ever played SC2 but very excited for stormgate and I'm sure i'm not the only one in that position. I imagine most of the people giving the game a hard time are people used to a certain style type of RTS from previous games maybe
Just found the channel, and very nice to see Frigate gameplay without it being the same 1 or 2 Parting matches (very good player but kinda limits how much the average viewer can learn from watching constant stomps). Looked like Gamefriend started strong but from a viewer perspective it looked like he had headaches with a few roaming fiends harrassing his luminite mines, preventing the celestial player from really ramping up once the contain was started, and it didn't look like any Therium was mined for the longest time despite having a "spare" morph core hanging around his arkship for what felt like a good 5+ minutes. Of course much easier to backseat drive/advise outside of actual gameplay but this also helps to show Celestials aren't the unstoppable force that Parting made them feel like. Thank you for the cast and will be watching to see what else you have available to share while we wait for Early Access.
Absolutely agree with the critique :) Excellent harassment from Naomi and I was trying too hard to end the game with argents instead of teching up IMO. Also the “extra” morph core is for spotting the high ground.
@GameFriend10 Gotcha, wasn't completely sure but makes sense for when your arkship was landed. Still did a great job of pressuring your opponent initially and far easier to backseat play, especially with a new and wonky race, than if one of us was against your opponent. Thanks for being willing to share the game for casting and will be curious to see what adjustments you make if other games of yours end up on the channel.
The kri’s pre-death explosion feels kind of sluggish. I feel like they should lose the ability to attack, gain a movement speed boost and explode much sooner
Watching your casts I'm finding myself getting annoyed with seemingly every celestial game turning into a contain. It seems like the current race mechanics really encourage that play. I don't love it because it focuses all the action in just a corner of the map and it seems to make the games hinge on one binary: if the contain succeeds, celestials win. That said, i could see that just being the current meta while everybody is figuring this new funky race out. maybe the other races get good at holding contains and the play puts celestial players so behind that it is no longer the best strategy. I'm interested to see how things develop once EA comes out, especially since that'll come with a new balance patch that will really shake things up.
Yeah for sure, you make good points, I think the salient one has to be though that this is super early and i'm sure balance patches will be there for sure. I reckon at this stage its gotta be a more surface level look at the factions for sure because as you say the current meta is pretty binary. thanks for watching btw, I hope you're enjoying the games
Funny you say that. I do think as Frigate went on, the meta shifted towards this aggressive contain not being the best strat. I found myself losing to Inf a lot just to 1 base brute/fiend pressure, and so defending at home with the arcship became a lot more important. Same against Vanguard. Hedgehogs came out so early that Celestials need to stay home and get vectors.

hm... with so many players using an army-oriented faction to cheese, it's about time we get a faction focused on cheese, with a good army added on top.
It definitely a lot simpler than vanguard and infernals, I think its good for the game though, not having to have a macro cycle with every faction means there's something for those who don't wanna keep making workers all the time xD. (personally i like the macro cycle, i dunno, i find it soothing 😂)
i love rts games i tryed to play them lots of time, but i always finished abandon them due for dont have good reflex, fast thinking, or be fast to press buttons or get messy with the controls, but i always come back to watch them now im waiting for stormgate to come out and play it, but i fear that i will suck at it, or be destroyed continusly with no results, and this third faction is much more intimidating that all the things that i had see in this genre....
Pretty sure the weakness is just not being Parting
It’s a skill issue tbh, banking huge amounts of resources without making production or units

@@GameFriend10 Seems like many Cel players forget they have other units than Argents 🙄
The thumbnail units that you put for this video are the perfect example on what theme the devs should focus on for the faction units visually.

I might be alone here saying this, but the celestial building mechanics seems uninteresting.
