A nice little story I'm going to tell about one sunday about 6 and a half years ago at my local pub in Wangford Suffolk. I was running an open acoustic night, as we were playing and singing in walks the man himself, I recognised him and jokingly said I hope you're going to bring your guitar in.He was on his way back from a gig he had done in Lowestoft, not wanting to drive any further he decided to get a room at the pub for the night. After booking in he then went and got a guitar out of his motor, we spent the next 2hrs (way past closing time jamming). The end of this story is funny in that my wife was concerned that I was late coming home and called me, Alvin asked for the phone introducing himself and apologised for keeping me out late :-), with that my wife answered Oh yeah Alvin Stardust who you kidding. A great time we had and what a lovely guy. R.I.P
I have always loved "Pretend" by Alvin Stardust......I am watching this funeral from Lake Forest, California, USA......R.I.P. Alvin Stardust......! I will always love your song "Pretend" the melody made me happy...!! Untill we'll meet again!!!

I went out with a guy many years ago who was his double, he used to sing his records to me, I loved him deeply but sadly he passed at a young age, I will never forget him he couldn't really sing like Alvin but gave it a good go, Alvin was great.💕💐🙏xx

What a brilliant send off i just wished that i could've been there for him like he was there for me when i was a tot watching him on the telly .... God bless you Alvin Rest In Peace.
He comes across as a sincere and likeable man, good at his chosen profession, who deserves his place in the record-books and is - rightfully, if sadly - missed by those who knew him personally.
Very respectful and moving piece of film. I remember Alvin Stardust back in the day- it all seems so long ago. When I saw this I was shocked to see it was made two years ago- time passes so quickly. RIP Alvin Stardust and thank you for being a great part of British musical history.
Thank you everybody for watching Alvin's funeral, over 6000 already, the sun was shinning on that beautiful day and the whole of St Thomas turned out too see a great man in they're community and at they're church. The police closed a major road for the 35 Harley Davidson motor bikes to escort Alvin out of Swansea City. His unique style and music will live on for ever. RIP Alvin. So very sad to learn about the passing of Alvin Stardust. My condolences goes to his family at this sad time. He was such a true singer of the 1970s and 80s. Sadly missed by all and certainly me.
One of the greats from the 70's on top of the pops. I remember Alvin well when introduced by Noel Edmunds on TOTP. My Coo Ca Choo....A massive hit a vinyl i have treasured all these years. RIP Alvin and thank you for all the great songs.
I was born in 72 and brought up on his music in my childhood, my sisters, mum etc loved listening to his music, his music will live on in our hearts and memories, I was really shocked and upset to hear that he passed away 3 days before my 42nd birthday on 26th October. Still remember him as the green cross code man from the 70's/80's advert. I still love listening to his music especially his song I feel like Buddy Holly. My thoughts total respect and prayers to all his family and friends. The service was really touching and made me cry. May he continue singing with all of our loved ones who are no longer with us and we thank you for your unique style of music, God bless you and may your music live on in all generations young and old. R.I.P. The one and only Alvin Stardust 😥😢❤️🎸🎶🎵🎼🎤🎙️

Rest in peace. One year ago today Alvin was laid to rest in Swansea A true Gentleman. Still remembered in my prayers.True friends are never forgotten. God Bless and peace to your lovely family.
When I was a young girl I thought he was great, he turned out to become a lovely family man. It shows by the amount of people at his funeral, how much he was loved, Whether you are rich, whether you are poor, we all go the same way and all our loved ones are at a loss as their lives seem so much emptier without that special person, but we only have one life, and that person that has died would want us to live it to the full..I know that sound easier said than done, but I am sure Alvin would also think that too..
I got to correspond with Alvin on Facebook shortly before he died. I loved the guitar solo on his cover of of "Pretend" and wondered who had done it (the guitarist in Matchbox). Most Facebook stars are mainly interested in promoting their latest project. However, Alvin did respond to my question. His "Moody Guy" was one of about 5 pre-Beatles songs that was a real Brit rocker.
Brought a tear to my eyes watching His beautiful wife Julie and daughter Millie walking behind the man they loved so much in the casket to the church. He a left behind a two beautiful women he looked after and loved very much. Plus is grown up children from previous marriages. I was fan back in the 70s and he shall be remembered..RIP
I am married to his second son. Adam F. May Shane Fentons children reunite as family in time ♥️🌀 as a child I loved his music I hope that his kids will reunite and be an extended family because they all deserve that ♥️
god bless alvin/shane fenton we loved you & your music, i was lucky enough to meet alvin & he sang one of my favourite 50,s songs at the side of the stage for me. how many stars would do that? thankyou for all you gave us & rest in rockin heaven, god bless your family to.

We are losing legendary singer's and artists Bowie's death had a few creepy but emotional and meaningful songs Freddie Mercury will always be the one with the voice his voice was out of this world a voice carved by Angels
jim cragg .......Did you ever think for just one minute, the funeral may just have been what he or his family actually wanted, not what you, whoever you may be, have preferred, in fact did you ever think, or indeed, capable of thought about anything other than about yourself?
Im pretty sure it was what Alvin wanted so please keep your opinions to yourself. I think all of us would want a low key affair but a time to reflect, see it as a tribute but nothing that is considered over the top.
10 years have passed and to me he the Stardust is stilled missed god bless you Alvin and one day i shall play beside you and make my mum and dad proud

SORRY BUT IT'S A PISS POOR FUNERAL FOR SUCH A GEART MAN.
jim cragg That was my first opinion too.
jim cragg one you need to spell and two how dare you say that about his funeral you are a disgrace
jim cragg .......Did you ever think for just one minute, the funeral may just have been what he or his family actually wanted, not what you, whoever you may be, have preferred, in fact did you ever think, or indeed, capable of thought about anything other than about yourself?
Your crass remarks are an insult to the grief of the family. Thanks for lowering the tone.
Im pretty sure it was what Alvin wanted so please keep your opinions to yourself. I think all of us would want a low key affair but a time to reflect, see it as a tribute but nothing that is considered over the top.
