    Good tutorial :-) All the Zeppelin songs have great riffs that sound simple, but are usually quite intricate.

    • @ldhorricks
      @ldhorricks ปีที่แล้ว +1

      exactly...that riff is simple enough...but like with everything in music, its all about timing. This riff a lot more difficult to keep in time at speed than it looks. Palm Muting is something I often spend 15 mins a few times a week practicing...its essential to the sound and timing of so many riffs.

    1st time I've lucked into one of your lessons. Great work, thank you. I will be a fan. I like the way you teach. It gets to the point and really shows what to do. I started playing very late in life but lived through all these great songs. It's a real treat to finally be able to play them.

    I think the D section actually starts on the open D string and then hammers up to the A and higher D at the 7th fret. The following turn around also starts with open D and hammers up to F sharp at the 4th fret. MUCH easier to play and emphasizes the rhythm better

  • @Guitarpima
    @Guitarpima 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    Good lesson. I recommend using the open d string when you go to the D, F sharp, a.

    Another great lesson from Karl...
    Look, no way I'm in his league but just wondering why he wouldn't get away from the awkward "jump" in the main lick by using the open D instead of the 5th string 5th fret? That way one strike on the open D and the next two notes (F# to A on the 4th string) are just quick hammer ons.
    And... damn there are just too many picking options on those little arpeggios... anyone know what Jimmy did?

      Lmao first of all it makes me laugh when guys on YT teach songs especially Zeppelin songs with a damn Stratocaster they could at least use a LP copy or something with humbuckers I mean c'mon seriously the lesson was okay just wrong guitar choice for Led Zeppelin and that goes for all YT teachers out there if your going to do YT lessons at least choose the right type guitar or something close that fits the damn songs

    • @blueskycrying
      @blueskycrying 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Malcolm Boyd exactly my point a tele would have been fine to teach the song it has way more balls than a strat you have to turn strats way up to compete with a tele or a LP and its nearly impossible to get a LP tone out of a strat not true for a Tele
