One place I would recommend after you get through some agent missions is Faction Warfare. A good way to get into PvP or hybrid PvP-PvE without all of the skill pressure that comes from being in null sec. It's a lot of fun and I recommend joining up with a militia.
@@EventHorizon_Alex i heard because of free-to-play alpha clones being a thing, that apparently unlimited number of f2p alpha bots are overrunning and ruining faction warfare: forums.eveonline.com/t/faction-warfare-is-dead-long-live-our-robot-overlords/124404 i know and saw this because i was looking to do the same, for income and to learn intricacies of pvp
Thanks for pointing this out. I think CCP will do a heavy sweep of bots pretty soon as we've seen this before in the mining area. It's an issue no doubt, but no unfixable.
FW is a lot better now- amarr especially has good exchange rates and the wz is slowly recovering from the bot invasion. Check AMSCP public or KPROP channels and get to know us there, it really is a great direction once you are done with career agents, and people like AMSCP will provide all the skill books, skill plans, free ships etc and get you in the right direction, whilst at the same time being an awesome bunch of murderfloofs you can genuinely have a laugh with- And everybody is having fun as a priority, getting rich is just a bonus.
Not everyone is making Eve their second life and run 4 alts to fund their pvp. Nothing wrong with selling plex your first month, to fund some 200 frigates or 50 destroyers you can then blow up whilst learning pvp. Maybe you truly play for fun and have 2-3 spare hours every few days to try some space ships.
I dropped 100$$on the game to buy isk and then bought skill injectors to save myself months of training. I think that is an alright idea if money isn't an issue for you.
It could be. I might only suggest, make sure you know what you want to do and you have an idea how to get there before dropping dollars on skill injectors. I bought one, but it was mainly to get my Corp Mining Training plan done faster to increase my productivity in mining which is funding my other ventures. My goal was to run an mining barge doing highsec moon goo, and once that course is finished I'll go train into Covert Ops exploration. Then I hope to poke around nullsec and check out what's happening there.
Haven't played in yrs, so sort of have to relearn a lot. But, unless they changed clone dynamics, ypu should include a warning about venturing into null space and getting podded.
i'm hearing this game isn't new player friendly, in the way they will spend the first 6 months grinding before their skills really turn into anything. That true?
Avarice you can quickly become effective if you are focused in your skill training and have a firm career idea what your character will be. Tackle, EWAR, logistics are a few area that you can ramp up in a month or 2.
I have about 20 Hours into this game. I have 6 Six ships, and multiple types of weapons. IF you mean getting all the big ships at once... yes it will take you a very long time. But if you start small, build up your smaller ships, build up your stock of weapons, ammo, supplies, you start to see the progression. Sure I don't have the fanciest of ships, or even anything remotely "good". But I'm proud of my little collection, and it didn't take me forever to get here. Only to understand how the game works, or combat. Once it clicks, you start doing more missions, making more money, and thinking... hey what else is there?
Why can't you wasd increase speed decrease speed that's annoying I'd like to steer or say use a controller if im trying to run you hold left key aim press align that kills it for me

Karma Yeah insurance really only covers Tech 1 ships, but with Tech 2 and 3 it’s going to be a wash. And that’s not counting the modules, etc. it helps but it won’t cover the loss entirely.
Disagree about joining player corporations, joining corporations is a great way to learn faster and usually you get a decent leg up as a result. Going it alone can be way too overwhelming for the average noobie.
Crusader2132 I think learning the basics solo with help from the rookie channel and wiki resources help make you a lot more useful when you finally decide to join a Corp.
EVE is a social game. I started 12 years ago and jumped right into lowsec piracy headfirst, was terrible at it. Got recruited to a proper pirate group because in one fight I actually managed to mount a decent defense. They taught me how to be a much better killer much faster than I could have learned on my own. Now I am one of the best killers in the game. (Can provide proof if necessary). And in modern eve solo players unless they are highly experienced and bling out their ships and implants will just get trumped by even a small gang of players. TLDR there is only so far you can progress as a solo pilot and interacting with likeminded groups will accelerate the learning process by many magnitudes.
Yes, because by the time you figure out this game you will have been playing 10 years. Jk. Your skill points are real time based so there's no "I need to grind XP 5 hours a day or I will never catch up." Also if you are interested in pvp it doesn't take long to be able to afford a decent/valuable pvp ship especially if you play with a corp. At least try it for free for a while and see how you like it. But good luck, once you are hooked, eve has got you for the rest of your life.
while there are people that have been playing 10 years there is a hard limit on how far they can advance in a specific area, for example in a few months you can be just as experienced (skillpoint wise) in frigates as a 10 year old vet. the only difference at that point between you is in game knowledge (manual flying, changing ship fittings round ect). The way to look at a new player compared to a vet is they can be equally skilled in things after not a lot of time however the vet will be skilled into more aspects of the game. this doesnt give them an advantage it just allows them to engage in more activities. A vet having max skills in a battleship doesnt make a difference to the newer player in a frigate because bigger ships =/= better ships. all ships have a purpose

Prometheus this is true if you take unnecessary risks or burn out from overplaying. If you learn how to be wise with your resources (keep the majority of it liquid), don’t entrust all your assets to strangers and moderate your gaming time you can get a huge amount of enjoyment out of Eve Online.

One place I would recommend after you get through some agent missions is Faction Warfare. A good way to get into PvP or hybrid PvP-PvE without all of the skill pressure that comes from being in null sec. It's a lot of fun and I recommend joining up with a militia.
@@EventHorizon_Alex Thank you for you fast answer ! Will try that !
I started touching plex and it wrecked me been trying to recover from it. Of course this started happening like 3-4 years ago.
Very useful thank you!
Eve Online Forever! o7
one year playing this game and now i almost flying carrier
Proud of you buddy
I still playing solo since 2016, and that`s the problem I am afraid fly in null sec
Haven't played in yrs, so sort of have to relearn a lot. But, unless they changed clone dynamics, ypu should include a warning about venturing into null space and getting podded.
Ridcul clones now are free and you don’t lose skill points unless you’re in a tech 3 cruiser
@@EventHorizon_Alex nice, good know. Thanks!

Not in a corp right or very active, but hopefully I'll be able to return soon. Real Life is enjoying taking my free time :)

i'm hearing this game isn't new player friendly, in the way they will spend the first 6 months grinding before their skills really turn into anything. That true?
Very true its a game where you can do anything you want, you just have to wait years sometimes a decade to get the skills required to do it.
Once it clicks, you start doing more missions, making more money, and thinking... hey what else is there?
been watching for 5 mins haven't learned a thing yet. ramblin man
fuck off
Thanks for this.
heyy thi is the exact two year anniversary of this video lol
Should attempt to play this if my connection is 1.5 mbps? Or am I going to lag too much?

Are you asking about attribute points such as perception and memory or skill points into specific skills?
right click ship > show info
.. try looking at the Mastery tab. it will give you guidance on how to improve different aspects of the ship .. gunnery, armor/shield tank, capacitor, energy use, manuevering, targeting, etc

Ya but..... how do I find my crashed ship to get some of my stuff back?
Check the resurrection dock in Jita :)
Right on thanks, I can't seem to get anything back from full coverage insurance. I know it doesn't matter at this point yet..
@@Crusader2132 I started almost the same as yo but on the rat hunter side!

Nice video
Is it even worth playing when you're competing against people who have played for over ten years?
Yes, because by the time you figure out this game you will have been playing 10 years. Jk. Your skill points are real time based so there's no "I need to grind XP 5 hours a day or I will never catch up."
Also if you are interested in pvp it doesn't take long to be able to afford a decent/valuable pvp ship especially if you play with a corp.
At least try it for free for a while and see how you like it. But good luck, once you are hooked, eve has got you for the rest of your life.
That is what I was thinking
while there are people that have been playing 10 years there is a hard limit on how far they can advance in a specific area, for example in a few months you can be just as experienced (skillpoint wise) in frigates as a 10 year old vet. the only difference at that point between you is in game knowledge (manual flying, changing ship fittings round ect).
It's kinda unfair now
@@NoOne-ie4xl it's not unfair at all lmao, if any thing it's more accessable for newbies than ever
Lol, i thought i was doing well untill someone said send me ure ship layout thing... he sais this is a mess and sent me some sort of pro layout i dont understand please do a explanation vid on how to do that better

This might be helpful if you explained the jargon you use that doesn't mean shit to non players. I was hoping you'd explain something to people who don't know the game at all. Unfortunately aside from the specialist choice part the rest of this video was useless

Mate can you send me n invite to your corp pls
Right now I’m a solo Corp and not in game a ton. If there’s interest in making a real Corp I’ll certainly be interested.
As much as I want info on this game, this video took too long to get to the information.
Lol don't buy in game currency and take a cheap weak ship to the most dangerous part of the game... nice tips
Without watching the video I'll give one vital tip for new players; uninstall and don't play eve if you value your happiness.
Prometheus this is true if you take unnecessary risks or burn out from overplaying. If you learn how to be wise with your resources (keep the majority of it liquid), don’t entrust all your assets to strangers and moderate your gaming time you can get a huge amount of enjoyment out of Eve Online.
@@Corusame So you're saying that new players know what the unnecessary risks are and how to avoid them, should refrain overplaying a GAME and keep it short and possess the knowledge to accumulate and know to to manage funds, and know who to trust or not... Hmm... And here I was thinking GAMEs are fun and the more you like it, the more you played it and the more you play it the more you like it... Maybe I'm delusional and you're right. Let's go tell the world that NEW players should learn all this before starting so they avoid disappointment!
@@seaycyp Eve Online certainly isn't for everyone but for those with the inclination it provides a unique universe full of both risk and great opportunity. Those who persevere are treated with one of the most immersive and involved game experiences out there in my opinion.
Fe fi fo fum, I smell the salt of a displeased instant gratification wanting bum.
Just because you didn't enjoy the game, doesn't mean nobody else will, people who are intelligent, can research, enjoy learning, have patience etc all thrive in this game.
If you want to give the game a bad review or discourage people from trying it, use criticism and reasoning so people can do more than just Ignore your salty words.
Also- who are you to give such "advice", do you know what will make ME happy? Does your "vital tip" ensure My happiness? I don't think so, so your "advice" is wrong; A statement based in your opinion, is worthless to anybody looking into this video for insight and to learn, your comment neither educates or adds to anything meaningful. At least attempt to be constructive so others can take something (be it positive or negative) away from the effort you put into writing it- a bland & unhelpful, insight-less comment like yours simply identifies you as a salty moron. Telling somebody it's bad "just because" is worthless and means nothing especially when you have no visible justification.
