I bought this for a Mossberg 88 12ga, but I can't recommend. The pistol grip is a steeper angle compared to their other grips because of the unsightly folding hinge. This makes felt recoil several times harder, mainly in your thumb joint and wrist. The all-plastic folding hinge (not very dependable imo) also sits on top of your thumb, making it bruised and raw after just a few rounds. When I went to go test the new setup, I thought my thumb was dislocated after running thru just two mag-tubes of low-brass target ammo, and the top of my thumb was rubbed raw on the knuckle (def required to wear gloves with this grip). This would probably work on a low-recoil weapon (like AR, 20ga, carbine, etc.), but for the force of a 12ga it will shred your hand and feel miserable. I'm going to ditch the folding stock, and try another grip that has a more shallow grip angle.
I should add that the high angle of the grip, combined with the flat angle of the stock, adds more sight-over-bore (even without the cheek riser); so you can't line up the front bead sight with the sight channel unless you put the stock almost at eye level, which is extremely uncomfortable. Unless you have mounted optics/sights that require a higher SOB, I again wouldn't recommend.
Excellent installation guide, just finished the install on my shockwave 20 ga. you answered a lot of questions. Once again the best install on youtube for this stock and gun type.
I haven’t worked it out that hard, but it seems to be very solid. I’m not a fan of the recoil reduction of the stock - might be the angle as it has thick padding. The button to fold it is easy to find, but the mechanism does affect hand position on the grip. I suggest finding someone who has one installed on a Maverick or similar shotgun and deciding if you like the feel before you make the investment.

I've got one of those. It's adjustable..6 steps. It get's really long when fully pulled out...too long for my arms, and i'm 6'3", so it fits anyone. Even with gorilla arms!
If you put it on a Mossberg 590, as i have, it gets a little tight where the bolt release button is, so i used my dremel and filed the pistolgrip down a bit there, for easier access with my thumb.
@@Psychonaut1974 can you slide the stock off the tube and replace it with a Magpul or other brand stock, or are the ATI tube and stock attached somehow?
@@prospektordo1778 Yes...you can slide it off. By instead of pushing in the lever/button when in you adjust the length of the stock, ..you pull it out. It's attached with a spring somehow so it "snaps" back in place after either pushed in or pulled out. Just be gently at first try, dont pull it too hard so you don't accidentally break it (the lever/button). :) I think i read somewhere, that someone actually managed to do that..

When folded would it interfere with a side saddle?
I just bought my MV88 today! I want to use this folding stock as well but don’t want it to interfere with a side saddle. Did ya ever find out?

Yes but not efficiently. I’ll be swapping this stock out soon for another ATI model

Did you replace the stock with a pistol brace and pistol length buffer I’ve been wanting to do it don’t know if its legal though

Good video. I have one but confused on what shell holder to install on it and if it requires drilling.
It attaches to the cheek riser. It used the screw holes on the riser with longer screws and attaches through those
