As someone who really enjoys terraria im happy to see you playing it and i hope that you continue to do so, obviously theres a lot you need to learn but one step at a time. First of all a helpful function is the 'auto' mode function of mining it basically targets the blocks in the direction of ur cursor so you don't have to aim as hard this is toggled on with the Control key at default (this also works with placing blocks, but i wouldnt recomment trying to build anything besides walls with it). Another thing is you can mount and dismount the minecart by pressing the R button (or whatever u have mount up binded to) when you are standing in the general vicinity of the minetrack rail. Also note that i would recommend you build the shape of your tower then fill it in with walls using the Control feature makes everything ALOT faster. When you build a room add a table or workbench, a chair, a way to get in and out of the room and a light source and this will make it viable housing for npcs to move in. Connor the guide has a useful feature where if you right click on him and click 'crafting' then you place an item in the box below of inventory he will tell you everything that you can craft out of that item. These are just a few tidbits there's a lot more to learn i hope the series gains support so that you continue it : )

Idk man. I know we all want it but I know for a fact this is gonna get brutal. So many hard drops you need to survive, so many hard fuckin bosses, and so much rage waiting. This game is good but I know it’s gonna get real tough. And pewdiepie is gonna get pissed off. Theirs so much to go. From wood armor all the way to moon lord. If everyone gives support he might pull through but I can’t say for sure. It’s a long ass game that demands so much time investment. Literally months.
When I first started terraria it took me a whole hour to achieve what pewds did in three minutes you don't know how long it took me to realize I can't interact with crafting tables and furnaces.

he just stumbled upon the recipe for the chair, workbench, table, torch, and walls
and since a house has those things (at least a table), he just built an npc house based off of his discovery of those things and off common sense
