First time here. YOu've done a great job Maddie! This is NOT a slow year! In fact, I know so many knitters that start so many things and NEVER finish anything. So Kudos for finishing things. Good luck on your job. And be positive! Rosie
“I didn't make that much” are you insane?! You made so much and it all looks amazing. I would suggest doing yoga for your wrists and shoulders (yoga is just great in general). Once a month The Wooly Thistle podcast has yoga for knitters. You did great! Be proud of yourself. Life is too intense to always be thinking you could do better. Great episode. Happy New Year 🎉 Happy knitting 💚🧶😘
The prima pullover is soooooo freaking cute on you. And the step by step sweater?? The colors?? I love. I will say I’ve had some felting on the heels of my socks and it just depends on the yarn and how often you wear the socks. I can see why you love the cloud sweater sm, it has such clean finishes and the halo is so elegant. I just want to say that I think you made the perfect amount of stuff for you. I knit a total of 4 garments this last year, and while I would love to knit more this year I know that my life might not always allow me to do that. It’s amazing to see how high your slay ration was. Thanks for sharing!
this new haircut really suits you! I love your colour's combinations and (maybe also because I'm a slow knitter) to me it looks like you worked a lot this year and you really should be proud of the results!! Being here from the first video and I love to see how you're growing as a podcaster while keeping it simple and natural =)
First video I’m watching of yours, and I have to follow because of your humor 😂 sometimes knitting channels can get so serious! Also I’m making that freaking halibut sweater. I’ve seen it twice now and I’m obsessed lol.
I definitely agree you should overdye the Clematis - as you were discussing that you didn’t like it, I was actually thinking that that’s what I would try. Anyhow, I love all your makes and only having one that you’re not that happy with is a great success!
Hi Maddie. First… I’m LOVING your new look my friend!!! It’s polished and cute at the same time. Next, you’ve done an incredible job on your second year of knitting. I have to say that my favs are your PetiteKnit sweaters… Amy and Cloud. They are perfection. I agree, she just writes/designs great patterns. Thanks for sharing. Good luck with Grad school and enjoy your down time because it will fly by. HUGS 🤗 ❤
I love you! You are so real! Yes, there were some flops, but man….there were some master pieces as well! You can definitely be proud of yourself. Totally agree with you on the amount of knits of some folks, but hey….each to their own….even if I have enough time , I do not have enough closet space :-)
Totally agree on the increases and decreases being hard to count on the sophie scarf!! I have a lot more fun making them when I use a ton of stitch markers.
obsessed with you I fear-- also thank you for curing my "how hard could it be... other people do it" disease with the halibut sweater with my 3 knitted-items-ever experience. You're a hero. (I'll get there one day)
A really good mechanism I have found for keeping track of even # increases (like in the sophie scarf/hood/shawl family) is by linking stitch markers together (# of stitch markers should be number of rows between increases/2) with a green marker at the end. Every right side, move one marker closer to the green stitch marker. When you get to the green marker, you know you will increase/decrease on the next wrong side. I did this for my sophie hood and didn't lose track once!
So many slays! Idk if I can pick a fave! Also lol at “this is a vest… by a designer” sometimes things just leave the brain (especially if the camera is on) and there’s nothing we can do. 😂
Thank you so much! Great sweaters! My knits are fails after fails...even with petite knit patterns I fail ...because ....I am stupid basically !!! But you're funny and it's great to watch your videos!!! Lots of love from Lisbon 😊❤❤
Have you tried watching some of the videos petite knit publishes for pattern help?! They’re usually in danish but I’ve found them very helpful as a visual reference!!!
Sophie Scarf is not mindless in a way that you do need to track the increases and decreases but to me it's mindless in a way that I don't need to check the pattern every 5 min and in basically just doing the same thing for the whole scarf
This is a very good point and I apologize if my comments were perceived as Sophie scarf slander. I did in fact cast the Sophie hood on last night and am having a good time using a row counter 🫶🙂↕️
@@byathreadknits Oh no I didn't perceive it as Sophie Scarf slander! I was just trying say that in a way I agree with both points that it is at the same time mindless and not mindless! My output might sound like I thought it to be slander so i get it :D
@@byathreadknits Like personally for me something actually mindless is knitting in a round stockinette or something similar because with that you don't need to keep track, think or even really look at our needles 😄
The problem with adding motifs to size up a circular yoke is that it will distort the neck to be massive very quickly. Just wanted to put that here in case anyone tries it ❤
Ah shoot that does make sense. Thanks for the info!!! I wonder if there’s a way to adjust the collar to accommodate for extra repeats? Would short rows be of use for that? Just thinking out loud; I am clearly not a designer lol

It’s all so relative!!! Thank you Rosie 💖

I’ve actually been getting back into yoga recently! But get this- my main issue is pain when putting my weight on my wrists 😔 I need bionic joints lol
I’m 10 mins in and I’m dying. We share the same sense of humor. 😂
you should def try to over dye your Clematis Sweater! Especially if that means you'd actually wear it more!
I think I’ll give it a shot!! Might even vlog the process, idk I’m feeling crazy

I know for a fact your slay ratio was also incredibly high!!! Can’t wait to see what you make this year 🫶🫶🫶

You deserve some sort of compensation for having stuck through those first few videos 🫡
Wow the halibut color combo is fire!🔥

Thoughts and prayers on your halibut journey- it is not for the faint of heart but I believe in you 😌

Hi friend!!!! Thank you so much for all your support this year 🫶🫶🫶
Fab makes! You did amazing work!

I do NOT have the closet space either lmao, I am fighting for my life in that department currently
Such good makes Maddie ❤
This podcast is def a mega slay
This comment is mega slay 😌🫶

I’m working on a Sophie hood rn and I’ve found actually using a row counter is very helpful for this project!!!

Okay but no, have we considered that if I can do it I fear anyone can
You either die a hero or live long enough to become an enabler of the halibut sweater
Beautiful work! You absolutely should be proud! ❤️

I’m having pretty good luck doing a Sophie hood right now and using this free tally marker app to keep track!

Great work! And your videos are incredibly entertaining! Love it!
Incredible work! Super proud of you! I made my “what I didnt finish video” because I thought of you. ❤❤
Just watched your vid!!! Loved it!!
