I was watching with my brothers family (all Roosters) and I left within the first half for 10 minutes and by the time I came back the score had doubled lol.
Yeah the panthers forwards pummelled the roosters in the first 20 mins, and this gave Luai and Cleary plenty of space to pour on the points for the panthers, after that the roosters got back into a bit but the early lead was too much to overcome.
You just see the complete difference in Penrith with Cleary back. Last week they were clunky and rudderless in attack although they still won. This week he comes back and basically engineers one of the most clinical performances you’ll see from any football side. He basically kicked the Roosters to death.
I’m a Newy supporter but Penrith are so impressive. There’s a lot of thought behind their defence, Cleary is a master at this. SJ from the Warriors was talking about a play in this game where they got Tedesco to be in a play on one side of the field so Cleary could surprise them with a kick on tackle 2 and To’o to finish it and Teddy had no chance of getting there. It’s such smart and fast footy the opponents seem to be always on the back foot. I think there’s no way it’s going to be anyone but Panthers vs Storm this year and It’s gonna be a shit hot game!
We hadn’t been really near as good as what we were in that first half for most of the season but we always seem to go up a few gears for finals. Obviously Cleary being back helped but the whole team lifted.
It doesn't show up as much on the highlights but Penrith destroyed them up the middle in the forward battle. They were so much more ruthless and aggressive in their tackling first contact. As an example Dom Young has only been kept under running 100 metres twice this year and both were against Penrith. Mitch Kenny in particular just loves to smash the wingers and centres on play one and two. You slow down the play the ball play one and two and you control the rest of the set in defence and that wins field position.
@@EamonnReacts 9/10 you're watching Fox highlights. They rarely show replays of tries or key moments of the game. Channel 9 often make use of the drone when showing replays of tries and their highlights are often have more context for the game.
Roosters had a couple of bad calls. But Nothing the Panthers couldn't handle in the end. They've fired off a big warning shot to everyone else. Cleary is back and will only get better. It's scary tbh. Credit to the Roosters but. They're missing 4 of what is probably 7 of their most influential players. They started way too slow. Panthers blitz them and had too much class after that. Looking forward to the stream tonight mate, Screw your soft spot for the Sharkz, up the Storm!
First half by panthers was the most complete performance I have ever seen. Gonna be hard to stop another prem for the panthers this year.

It's hard to top the first half against parra

As a massive Storm fan that panthers game scared the shit out of me 😅
haha I don't blame you. Should be an awesome matchup, hope we get to see it.
@@EamonnReacts it sucks because I moved to Vancouver from Melbourne so I’ve been missing a lot of the games due to the time
scared me too and my teams not even playing finals
I feel the same way watching most of the Storm games too, super impressive!

Real hard injury losses for the chooks in this one too.
Pretty sure that camera high shot's from a drone
Must be something they added in for the finals. Pretty cool angle.
