As an Aussie supporter who was at that game. Intensity was less than a finals or origin game. But The atmosphere was amazing! The world Cup is unreal to watch, especially since so many elite players have chosen to play for their heritage places that are less represented. There are lots of Tongans who live in Australia and those that were at the game cheered for the whole time, even when Australia scored. I saw a Big burly islander bloke who was wearing an Australian Rugby league jacket while waving a Tongan flag also holding his young daughter wearing a Tongan RL jersey! International Rugby League community is awesome.
Crazy how quick you’ve picked up players names and the little things about our sport. It’s not the most complex but other reactors seem to have a hard time understanding it 😂😂
The big game for the pacific championship is the Kiwis vs the Kangaroos, last year New Zealand beat Australia by a record breaking 30-0 but the Kiwis are missing a lot of key players this year
It's always Kiwis vs Kangaroos really, but considering Tonga beat Kangaroos 16-12 in 2019, this match was a really big deal for the Kangaroos, especially in the first round.
top 5 nations right now, australia, NZ, engaland, Tonga and Samoa. its pretty cool to see the development of our pacific nations bafore 2017 no pacific nation or tier 2 nation had beaten any tier 1 nation. whilst tonga and samoa still got a bit more to go to catch up to aus and nz we bring life into the international arena. also bit of context in 2017 there was 13 tongan plays from aus and nz that switched to tonga. definitely recommend you watch the 2017 tonga highlights, our tongan community showed up and atmosphere was second to none, not only in the stadium but outside as well. crazy to think that there's just over 150,000 of us in nz and aus yet we punch above our weight. kiwis we coming for MMT for life
Most Pacific island players are Australian and New Zealand products though. Would love to see more homegrown players from the Pacific islands if league could get as popular as rugby union.
@@theophilussogoromo3000 definitely i think that if resources and funding could be poured into the pacific islands they would be even more of a force and it would also be more sustainable. you see it rugby union with the likes of samisoni taukeiaho, shannon frizell, vaea fifita, taniela tupou in recent years who are all home grown talent who have made it in the international arena. if league is able to apply the same concept in development or even create a seperate club level competition within the pacific nations it would be great for the international game.
18 points to nil is a decent full time score for this match. If you really want to see some great World Cup matches featuring the Kangaroos I can suggest five: 1. 2000 Rugby League World Cup Group Stage, Australia versus Russia 2. 2013 Rugby League World Cup Quarter Finals, Australia versus USA 3. 2021 Rugby League World Cup final, Australia versus Samoa 4. 2017 Rugby League World Cup final, Australia versus England 5. 2008 Rugby League World Cup final, Australia versus New Zealand
NZ would be number 2, they beat Australia 30-0 in the Pacific Championship final last year. They also narrowly lost to Australia in the World Cup semi the year before that.
The game was brutal in the first half big hits, playing Tonga and Samoa those boys don't mess around they will belt you all night, those teams get good halves they will beat you if don't aim up in defence same with New Zealand.
Let's go! should be some decent matches in the series. Plus, you get to learn some extra knowledge on your favorite players and the shit storm that is the rules of representative football. It's outright stupid. As for the Tongan fans "Celebrating", you'll notice a lot of the islander nations are just a good vibes and enjoy the game.
Really good game for the Tongan youngster fullback lehi hopuate. Saved all those tries and he’s only a small fella but other than him it was actually a pretty boring game. Way too conservative. The upcoming games should be better hopefully 🤞🏻
New Zealand league team called kiwis. They beat Australia (kangaroos) last year in the final. Seems kiwis do good in games were there are few played like World Cup and pacific championship while kangaroos do well when it’s one game and that’s it vers kiwis. Last year Tonga beat the kangaroos I was hoping they would do the same here but no go. Australia are suppose to use the state of origin games to pick there international team but both the origin captains were not picked for these games . Big Mal Maninga is the coach he was the Queensland coach not that long ago. A couple of a weeks ago there was a big stink because QUINTON PONAYA said he didn’t want to play he wanted to help New Castle win a premaship. But then they don’t pick him for these games any way, personally he should be in the kiwi team any way and Benji Marshall should have played for Queensland that’s my opinion anyway.
Most other countries players actually PLAY in Australia for Australian teams ! The comment below about NZ beating Australia last year is true but this is NOT normal and wont happen this year!
NZ is #1 they are the reigning champs they beat Aus last year 30-0 in the final (Aus normally wins but they have been beat before) and this Aus team in my opinion is one of the weakest in ages but also NZ is missing a few as well but a lot of new blood so maybe that will counteract the complacency that saw them humiliated last year - also the last time they played Tonga Aus lost as well but still won the comp.

@@wattawatta1747 exactly.
You’ll have to check out the Superleague Grand final in England and England vs Samoa is on this Sunday.
The fact they missed the hit on Collin’s from olakautu is insane 😮
was thinking the same thing
Europe has it own championship. New Zealand have a HOT team and capable of beating Australia.
I'm psyched about that match.

Dearden plays for NQ Cowboys. I’m always keen to see what NSW QLD connections develop in the Australian squad during these matches.
i love your videos
Just Aussies, Kiwis, Tonga, Fiji, Cook Islands & Papua New Guinea in this tournament, bro
Tonga too
@@Qwertyuiop-kr7os opps, better fix that

Tonga did well they bomb a couple of opportunities and if they didn’t give up that interception they where in with a chance
Are you doing a watch part for the final?
yessir
@@EamonnReacts Hell yeah, let's go!
The rugby league World Cup is in 2026. England is included
I put a video in the discord, it’s the sipi tau vs haka in Tonga I’m pretty sure. Worth a watch if you’re interested 👍🏻
go live for samoa vs england
Its in England so it should be at a decent hour for you i think?
also do a reaction to the last world cups games

@rsym86 Australia lost 30 -0 last time we played with a similar team
