This is the Volkswagen Golf GTI Clubsport. It's a lighter, more powerful and more agile Golf GTI and many have said that this is what the GTI should have been all along. For me .. i spent 48 hours thinking of choosing between the golf r or the gti clubsport. in the end .. i choose the clubsport, and the reason why i didnt choose the golf r is because the exterior color was white and the interior was black and white is available in the store, and if i ordered a special order for the color i wanted to be, i have to wait 5 month. finally i think about it, that the golf r i can find a lot in the street, either the normal gti more and more common in the street, in each and every street. So the clubsport was the right choice for me because its unique and it wont be made every year, its a 40 anniversary car. moreover, when i drove this clubsport for the first time i was wondering why i was confused by the golf r or the clubsport! because this car is allover in a another level! CLUBSPORT IS THE RIGHT CHOICE ;)

The fuel consumption is excellent for such a fast car. VW claims 7.0l /100km, combined.
Fuel consumption is at around 10 - 11 liters/100 km for most users.
unidentified in reality 7.0 litres is minimal, not combined!

okay so the Alfa Guilietta 1750i has 176kw from a sub 1.8litre turbo
the Mk7 GTI has 160kw from a 2.0litre turbo
but now the club sport has 190kw but for 10 seconds only it has 213kw .... ( for R600k I'm buying 213kw for 10 seconds)
I'd rather go buy a A45 Amg for that money ... or a Golf R
or the first 2 that I mentioned and chip them
Oh lord!! this is by far the best review on the CS GTi. As for the price, GTi's have never been cheap, you only understand why once you own one. Suddenly the Golf R seems feeble.

Just Test Drove the Clubsport today! This car is a BEAST!!! If your not used to speed monsters, go easy on the pedal... Just sayin´ for you faint hearted people!!! Ohh, and apart from the looks, the sound is Friggin AWESOME !!! Will go speak options tommorow!

Zaheed Peer nothing really for that in Gauteng. Drive over to Harties or take a weekend trip to Dullstroom or Clarens for driving pleasure. Some beautiful roads there

How dare you undermine the golf 7 R like that?! you said it yourself.. the clubsport is based on the R... the golf R is basically the clubsport's daddy... and still does 0-100 in a much quicker time... and also, did you notice the R badge on the clubsport's engine cover? Il give the clubsport props on one thing.. those beautiful bucket seats. pretty cool review though, great job

Roberto Ramon Id say DCC & DSG if you wanna go quick! (as well as smooth). Maby a few extra Airbags... ;) Though i ordered it with a few more options like Sunroof & Dynaudio 400W system which are "must haves" for me. Personally i thought the bucket seats were way to stiff, so i went Leather Interior (No Must just nice). Back camera & Keyless Acess are not either directly must-haves, but can both add to coolness factor & practicality i think.. :)
3DFX sunroof is cool option but dynaudio is shit for money it costs. you can install another system for same money and get better sound!

Im gonna have one like this with 3 doors and a manual, i live in belgium. Same color :) There is not much difference with this one and the S version, it has more power because of a software tune...

I ordered it mid Mai. So 3 months and a half which is very good. Have seen a handful that got it faster but most got it much later. Some people with orders from February dont see the light yet.
In my defense, I ordered with a Manual (over 80% are DSG), Leather seats (i dont care for the buckets really - over 90%) and no black roof (over 80%). So I would assume my car didnt go through the line exactly like most go - and for the same reason wouldn't get as easily stuck in production.
This is me being theoretical :-)

Masoga Kekana The R actually shares a platform with the S3. The RS3 runs a 2.5l 5 cyl as opposed to the 4 banger in the R and S3.
