So can you share your syllabus with me? Lol 😂 nicoleraheem9@gmail.com Pleaaaase I've been doing self study and I'm not sure if I'm progressing at a college level
Having lots of spare time at home, I got back to studying Japanese and reading lots of mangas. Reading after reading, I came across some really nice chinese comics, went to look for some videos to understand the culture better... and now here I am, madly in love with tones LOL
I'm not sure what made me want to learn Chinese! It was a number of factors, I'm sure, but I fell in love with the writing system and then once I opened my eyes to Chinese I realized it's both really cool and beautiful, so I got hooked! It's been two months and I haven't learned that much yet, but it's okay. I'm still young and no one's holding a gun to my head haha, I just enjoy learning it :)
I started teaching English to Chinese children online not too long ago and I think that sparked my interest in learning Chinese! Now I am considering to teach English in China in the future and I would really like to learn as much as I can before then. :) Thank you!
My first friends in Uni were Chinese. i hung out with them a lot and they always just spoke in Chinese and I had no idea what they were saying lol. (when we were all in a group together, one on one we'd hang out and they'd speak english). For some reason I really loved just "third wheeling" and hearing them speak Chinese. It was beautiful. So one of my Chinese friends started giving me lessons and here I am now continuing my journey. We are all graduated now and but i still keep in contact. (Also have fallen in love with Chinese culture and art and architecture and TV shows )
I have been watching a lot of mandarin language shows on Netflix, and it really made me interested in learning the language and learning more about chinese culture. Thanks for this video, it will be very helpful as I am starting on my path to learn mandarin! I hope to be able to visit China someday and be able to communicate efficiently.
What made me learn Chinese is because I'm a huge C-pop fan and the language attracts me so much when I listen to it in the songs and in the interviews of my favorite C-pop idols 💖
I've been to the 2010 World Expo in Shanghai. Although there were some people who could speak a little English I really felt helpless when we went to restaurants. Our trip was somewhat of a last minute decision (actually it was a couple of months) so there was not much time to prepare by learning some mandarin. I don't rule out travelling to China in the future so I'd like to learn some Chinese. Where I live in the Netherlands there's a sort of Chinatown and there are many Chinese restaurants so practicing Chinese is possible.
Thank you for the video, very helpful! In phrase 24 there is a slight mistake in the English: the phrase is hang on a sec, not hand. It's like hanging on to something physically, like someone falling off the edge of a building. Hope this is clear !
Just so you know, bye bye is rarely spoken by adults, it's taught to children as it's easy to say and cute(spoken by a child). Adults may occasionally say bye, but usually it's "see you later" / "see ya" or a variation of that
My reason I am a chinese descendant and I don't know the main language (mandarin). I love your videos. If you ever wrote a book/guide for Noobies like me, will definitely buy it. More videos like this! Xie xie Xiaolu!
@@lyhthegreat that would be logical. You see, my parents doesnt speak mandarin but cantonese. They are immigrants and i was born in another country. Then i live in a country with culture shock and i already live in a world of anxiety (to me at least). Why i didnt learn then? Well, my parents well busy, i was study, learnt to speak both languages. Mandarin is a very influential language and can provide many career opportunities.
Well, the basic reason I wanted to learn Chinese was because I had memory brain damage after first covid bout. Then I just realised I loved it. Oh and it worked for covid brain damage!
Umm, because i love China, and it a rich country in everything's, Cultures, Medicines, Nature, People ...ect !! i wish i can travel there someday!! .. 😍
Oh i remember all people in the 费玉清 Fan Club write 早 in the morning . I was the only one with 早上好😂。 and what inspired me to learn chinese is Fei Yu Chings music . I wanted to understand him . He inspired me a lot 👍
Hi Xiaolu.Your class is very good. I watched many TH-cam videos from many TH-camrs but I liked your videos more than others video. Inspite of your videos are good, Viewers are too less. I am sure by day by day it will be increased. I liked your way of teaching. Keep it up.(I have only one suggestion that you make letters a little bit bigger to visible easily)Xie xie Zaijian.
I've been drinking chinese tea for 10 years, figured I should learn a little bit of the language. Just finished my first semester and I'm hooked.
Niiiiiiiiiiiiiiiceeeeeee

Xie xie Xiaolu!
why don't you get your family members or relatives to teach you instead? it's quicker that way imo due to immersive learning
