@Ali Abdelaziz Yeah, true. But it doesn’t matter how tough someone is. If you get pieced up, then you get pieced up. With this sport, the tables can turn at any moment. They both did well.
This man has more character, integrity and respect about him than 99% of the fighters on the roster. While others are getting arrested, doing drugs with their own coaches, showboating, and running their mouths, he’s donating his earnings, raising a family, and striving to improve. We need more men like this as bad as more kids need a father like this. God bless the Poirier family.
I love the respect from these reporters, not going over the line with the amount of questions and just keeping it short for him so he can go back to his family and team
@A Z He had no choice too, his grappling/ground game is no where charles level. His plan was perfect, charles just too good at what he does. He was only meant to defend charles jiu jitsu and get up but once he realised how good oliveria was (better than he fought), he was too scared too even defend and charles sensed that, so he went back to grappling straight away and got the finish. I knew dustin was gonna lose, when in the second rd when he hugged onto charles for dear life on the ground, looked like he was drowing in the middle of the ocean lool. Instead of trying to get up and go back to striking. Pretty obvious all charles had to do at that point was put him back in that position again.
Damn seeing Dustin like this breaks my heart. I really wanted him to win. Hearing him talk about seeing the video of where Charles grew up and realizing more people need help out there then choosing to donate really shows how big of a heart he has. He's a champion in my eyes still and I know he will bounce back.
Don't think he has another title fight run in him, best bet for him is to secure another mcgregor payday and ride off into the sun. Not that he needs to face mcgregor again but mcgregor will want to fight again so why not? besides conor gone quiet about being next up since yesterday loool. We have to ask ourselves what do I have attached to victory, to the belt? Emotionally, what's on the line, what do i THINK it says about me?! Conversely, if I lose, what's attached emotionally to that. What does a loss in a title bout mean to me, internally? What does it say to me and about me etc etc? It's all wrapped-up in Ego, that's how I got over some significant sports setbacks. I suctioned-out only the good. (Besides, in a lot of people's heads Dustin was ALREADY the belt holder, i.e. the World's best Lightweight.) ...Look at how far The Diamond has come since he started. In every possible aspect of his life. That's WAY, way more than the perceived importance of a belt. It actually DWARFS the Lightweight Belt.

First round was completely insane. Oliveira went from absorbing 56 head strikes, yes you read that right, to having almost complete control of the second round.
@@YOUENNNN Charles is a very very good fighter, one of the best in history, but if his next fight with Justin Gaethje goes the same way as this fight with Dustin Poirier, NO WAY IN HELL could he take 56 shots or more from Gaethje and not get knocked the fuck out. Justin has literal nukes in his hands, not to mention the wrestling and takedown defence Gaethje has, which would make it pretty hard for Charles to submit him. AND on top of all that, Justin has the deadliest kicks in UFC history, he would probably fuck Oliveira's legs up by the second round. In my opinion Gaethje is the perfect fighter to beat Charles Oliveira, if Gaethje fails to beat him, nobody will.

This man has more character, integrity and respect about him than 99% of the fighters on the roster. This dude is such a good guy, sucks to see him so emotional at this chance he had. Hope he bounces back and gives it another shot.

We have to ask ourselves what do I have attached to
victory, to the belt? Emotionally, what's on the line, what do
i THINK it says about me?! Conversely, if I lose, what's attached
emotionally to that. What does a loss in a title bout mean
to me, internally? What does it say to me and about me etc etc?
It's all wrapped-up in Ego, that's how I got over some
significant sports setbacks. I suctioned-out only the good.
