- Step-by-step guide to installing a new prop shaft on a 2008 pre-facelift Freelander 2 TD4 model.
Please note that I do work on my car as a hobby, I am not a mechanic by trade. The video is based on the instal process that I undertook.
If you attempt the install process yourself but are not confident about the process, then you should seek advice from a competent mechanic. I accept no liability if mistakes are made that cause damage to your vehicle.
Надо смотреть подушки АКПП, и двигателя. Была такая продлема .
Thanks brother ❤ good job 💪👍😉
Good video it's harder on a gen 4 haldex to get to the bolts
Nice job
Could you hear the knocking from the ends of the propshaft inside the cab when driving?
No I did not get any knocking. I have the fairly common vibration between 1500-2000 rpm but the new shaft has not sorted that unfortunately.
Hola me puede decir dónde a comprado transmisión gracias
www.baileymorris.co.uk hope that helps
Excellent information sir . How much was the propshaft ? I need to replace my GS td4e shaft , only done 90k miles
Thanks for the positive comments Steven. With respect to the prop costs, a genuine LR prop is circa £1300 + VAT. I bought mine from a prop specialist Bailey Morris baileymorris.co.uk for circa £600 (it’s a GKN product). It hasn’t cured my vibration issue though.
Great vid - I might have this job coming up. What were your symptoms?
James I was getting some reverberation through the central console / tunnel and through the accelerator pedal when I took my foot off the power slightly when accelerating. Unfortunately the new shaft hasn’t cured the problem, so what’s causing it I have no idea!
@@garyredman642 Discovered my issue was due to a rear brake shoe which had come apart inside the disc, and was catching as the wheel spun, then freeing as I slowed down - means unbolting the calliper, but worth checking that on yours Maybe?
@@garyredman642curious to know if you discovered what was causing your vibration when decelerating . I’ve just been through a new prop shaft and new rear diff with no luck as well. Incredibly frustrating!
@@dinopatsouris2755no sadly I haven’t got to the bottom of the vibration yet. Will add a comment on here if I do.
