Like the title says, it's been since like, since 1977 that a Gerber has appealed to me with no effort on my part. The Gerber Zilch is a great design for an EDC folding, locking pocket knife and it's build well too. I got mine at Lowes for $20 and for that you get awesome thumbstud/washer action, great ergonomics, excellent blade shape with a good grind, it even comes in red. All good. But this could be great, with an upgrade of materials or even endless collectable iterations or dealer exclusives, Gerber has a knife worthy of being a flagship, platform knife.

This is the best 20 dollar knife I ever bought !
I have many Benchmade, Spyderco, Buck & Pro-Tech knives.

I just got a Zilch and it's Great. Sleek and slender makes it's a solid EDC.
I’ve had mine for months and I love it. I’m very hard use on my blades and I’ve nicknamed my Zilch my “grub knife”. I’ve literally used it to dig up roots. It’s a solid knife and if you go a bit too hard on it and break it somehow then well shit, it’s $20, buy a new one. Would love some more premium versions of it, i totally agree with you when you say it could be there Elementum, their Bugout, their Delica. The design already accommodates room for a flipper tab. Imagine this thing with an S35vn blade, flipper tab and thumb studs and titanium scales or some sort of Micarta, marble carbin fiber, Brass, Copper, Aluminium. Honestly the potential of this design is crazy. My advice? Get one, you won’t regret it.

Thanks for the video it helped motivate me to buy one. It came today....really happy with this knife. Just something about it I really enjoy. Lot of fun to fidget with and it takes a super sharp edge and runs through paper like butter. Very light, thin, handsome, kinda cheap feeling...literally cheap in cost....I dunno man its just a satisfying knife.

No folder is "tough" compared toa pry bar
It is a cool looking knife. But very cheap. I just bought a Gerber Sharkbelly Folding Pocket knife. With A 3.2 inch 420HC sheepsfoot blade. From Bass Pro Shops online.
gerber has always straight up ignored my warranty requests. I can't bring myself to buy anything from them again even though they're probably not bad knives

well, 7Cr steel again. a no-go for me. for 20 USD you get very good Sitivien or Ganzo folders with 8Cr or 440C and G10. for 25 you get D2 or 14C28N. so i don't see why i should buy a 7Cr Gerber, sorry.
For $20 I guess I can throw it into the wife's junk drawer (and throw away the nail clippers that don't cut thread), but ...
Gerber as a company seems to have no direction, they just throw designs at the wall and hope they stick.
Hope Gerber is listening, you can tell that SOG and Buck are kinda listening. Definitely they aren’t paying near as much attention as Civivi and Kizer. Even with this knife, it is evident how far out of touch Gerber is with the knife enthusiast.
Junk, it still has mystery steel, complete garbage with 3 5 or 7 Cr bottom of the barrel steel. Don't trust Gerber they can screw up any product or design, this goes for Fiskers line of machetes' too.
Which $25 knives do you recommend with better steels?
