I can’t believe what I’ve just watched… unbelievable. Massive fan of willow, where do I get my t shirt please? 😄
Notarobot wasted SOOO FUCKING MANY NUKES. He had the game in the bag and wasted 3 nukes right at the beginning. Even if the first one didn't land, he could have nuked literally anything else.
Yeah, if those first two nukes had targeted not-Willow I think an earlier break-through could have succeeded. Robot *had* scouted the first Antinuke before launching, at least according to the replay, so I think it'd have made more sense to target Ice's shipyards, Super's main eco or yards (probably the yards, to make room for the following push), or Deltharra's starting island eco. If he'd done any of those, I think the increased earlier pressure might have cracked Super and Ice earlier, or collapsed Deltharra, and let Team 2 put enough pressure on Willow to prevent the paragon play from succeeding.
Don't even know who wins but Willowisp is turtling like I've never witnessed!! Never seen three Scathis for one player!!! Bravo Willowisp...win or lose!!
I think I said this on the last willow game, but I have the same take away this game. Stop nuking base's you know to have nuke defence, when there are perfectly decent naval targets to hit. if the moment they had nukes 2 of them would have been enough to give team 2 the naval supremacy they needed and the paragon would have never completed. I am of course arm chair commander here and probably would not rank very high but man when I got a nuke on a naval map I know a great place to put it. Right where the slow things that cant really move out the way are.
Yeah, when the first nuke launched Willow SMD *had* been scouted. I think any of the forward targets would have been better choices. Then, before the 3rd nuke - the one on Super - *Delth's* SMD had been scouted - making the 4th nuke an obvious throwaway. The known presence of BBs coming out of Super's yards would seem like a higher priority. I get TotallyNotARobot was also running the ASF squadron, but those three lost nukes gave Willow all the space to set up his macro-monster. Willow got Eye up in time to scout the launchers before the first nuke - Robot Eye went up just in time to see the Para start construction, about the same time nuke landed on Noble_Ice's shipyards (after he gave them to Super). That's what, 5 launches of difference on Eye coverage? 2 wasted against Willow, one on Super, one wasted on Delth, then one on the SW yards, right?
@@Shadesight Yeah that sounds right. Having a great game is often not about being really good but rather having your opponent make dumb mistakes. I will again say though that I don't play ranked so I don't know how good I am comparatively and I'm sure most in here could beat me. There is so much going on in a game and often having team mates makes it harder because I personally find myself not worrying about some aspects of the battle or getting lasered in on a plan.
Oh, my rating is like, 300, so I'd absolutely be making the same mistakes - but I tend to target nukes more conservatively *specifically* because I expect antinuke defense if it hasn't been scouted. Better a suboptimal nuke than a wasted one. I also tend to be a more supportive player rather than a play-maker, because I know if I overextend I'mma get my head chopped off. I'll still push, but often on a salient to support an ally, either their defense or to help their attack. And you're absolutely right - these games, as in war, are often not about who screws up, but who screws up more and first, and those mistakes and outplays make for great content.
"The true mind can weather all the lies and illusions without being lost. The true heart can touch the poison of hatred without being harmed. Since beginning less time, darkness thrives in the void, but always yields to purifying light."😂
I think the Nuke Defense reacted late in the top left corner because of the map. My guess is that because the nuke travelled off map in its approach and beginning of the descent, the Nuke defense didn't trigger because technically the incoming Nuke was "out of it's range" (being offmap). Thus when the nuke appeared on screen, midway or nearing the end of it's descent, it got shot down.
The hole time i was thinking willow is ecoing to hard he needs to help his team. But his team was helping willow by absorbing the damage. This turtleing was superb play, willow knows what he is doing.
team 2 did good with the early domination and nuke spam, but the first 2 nukes not finding a target and getting defend did make the difference, the naval breaktrough would be faster and stronger, makes it harder to defend and this was a defence just on the edge of the blade, maybe better alpha strikes with the navy would brake the shield defence from nuke, because there was for some time 1 shield gen holding it with massiv support, but this takes always a bit of time to respond...it was a good match, epic
I think the first Nuke should have gone towards the Naval production. It's always risky trying to outshoot a SMD unless you know it's been recently built.
Once the first nuke failed to hit rear air I'd have 100% focused on the middle main island and naval production as the win condition. If TotallyNotARobot had simply nuked purple this was an easy win before paragon completion.
I heard Gyle say "Tin foil auroras" and immediately thought someone should make like a bingo card for commonly repeated things Gyle says. Then he immediately says someone already made one lmao

This just shows you the power of a game ender in the hands of someone capable...lol amazing match
Great performance from Willow again could have been different if Team 2 had actually scouted nuke targets early on though.
If he'd done any of those, I think the increased earlier pressure might have cracked Super and Ice earlier, or collapsed Deltharra, and let Team 2 put enough pressure on Willow to prevent the paragon play from succeeding.
also a teleport would have destroyed the paragon.
hell even one suicide com would have done it
What a madlad! Kudos Willow! Exquisite as always :)
That was one hell of a comeback.
Two unbelievable games.
Every willow game is a treat
Don't even know who wins but Willowisp is turtling like I've never witnessed!! Never seen three Scathis for one player!!! Bravo Willowisp...win or lose!!
That was an amazing match!!
Growing old is a good thing. It means you are living. Alrighty enough fortune cookie "wisdom". Back to the cast.
This is my favorite replay so far. More Willowisp games please!
Cant believe i didn't see this sooner.....VERY EPIC GAME
Unbelievable gameplay. What a beast!
Really solid cast.
Brah this was so good!
Another amazing game!
This was one for the ages
I realy like these comeback stories
that was indeed an EPIC ♥
One of the best things about thes vids are the intros nerlyft always makes me smile! Ps hope youre kids turnd of the lights.
What a great UEF turtle!
Oh, wait, there was no UEF in this game? NNNOOOOOO!!!!!
"The true mind can weather all the lies and illusions without being lost. The true heart can touch the poison of hatred without being harmed. Since beginning less time, darkness thrives in the void, but always yields to purifying light."😂
What a fantastic defence.
Thank you for turning up your microphone volume in these videos :-)
I think the Nuke Defense reacted late in the top left corner because of the map. My guess is that because the nuke travelled off map in its approach and beginning of the descent, the Nuke defense didn't trigger because technically the incoming Nuke was "out of it's range" (being offmap). Thus when the nuke appeared on screen, midway or nearing the end of it's descent, it got shot down.
The hole time i was thinking willow is ecoing to hard he needs to help his team.
But his team was helping willow by absorbing the damage.
This turtleing was superb play, willow knows what he is doing.
Came for supreme commander, stayed for the BTO reference
awesome comeback
That comeback was fun :)
team 2 did good with the early domination and nuke spam, but the first 2 nukes not finding a target and getting defend did make the difference, the naval breaktrough would be faster and stronger, makes it harder to defend and this was a defence just on the edge of the blade, maybe better alpha strikes with the navy would brake the shield defence from nuke, because there was for some time 1 shield gen holding it with massiv support, but this takes always a bit of time to respond...it was a good match, epic
I think the first Nuke should have gone towards the Naval production. It's always risky trying to outshoot a SMD unless you know it's been recently built.
Willow against the freaking world! Man, they were close holy crap this was a amazing game!
May our Queen rest in piece🙏
In this episode: WilloWisp is going for a walk.
9:06 -BODY ONCE TOLD ME THE WORLD WAS GONNA ROLL ME
Once the first nuke failed to hit rear air I'd have 100% focused on the middle main island and naval production as the win condition. If TotallyNotARobot had simply nuked purple this was an easy win before paragon completion.
Willowed.... wow - gj
Wow what a game... Started a bit slow and dull, until.... Just wow
I agree. The start is slow and the last 5 minutes are predictable. It's the middle bit that makes this an enjoyable battle to watch.
Great match!!!
Twice in a row, WilloWisp is an absolute gigachad
29:34 Well yes, Willow called out the nuke launcher at 25:50, and gave teammates some mass to spam up an SMD.
I heard Gyle say "Tin foil auroras" and immediately thought someone should make like a bingo card for commonly repeated things Gyle says. Then he immediately says someone already made one lmao
About growing old gracefully, or not. Gyle have you read the book Lifespan: Why We Age, and Why We Don't Have To is a non-fiction book authored by Australian-American biologist David A. Sinclair and journalist Matthew LaPlante and published by Atria Books in the US and by Thorsons in the UK on September 10, 2019.
How Not To Die by Dr Greger is an interesting read too.
The build capacity really got shown off with the air factory pumping out those planes. It was what? 15 a second.
fun to watch but also shows off all the current weaknesses of all sorts of spam again
Just WOW
