    Manage your priorities , work only on your highest value tasks . You don't have time to do everything but you do have time to do the most important things.

    📚 This is a life changing book if you apply the principle in your business, life, learning and time. 👍🏼 80/20 ftw, great video.
    How have you implemented this principle in your life?

    Read the book two decades ago, still using practical applications until today. Good for time-management strategy.

    In business the 20% of activity that creates 80% of the revenue is product creation and services + marketing them. Business owners/entrepreneurs should focus on creating products and marketing. Everything else in the business is an expense.

    I wonder if the 80/20 Rule in terms of "reading books" is applicable to medicine or law students. LOL!

    • @marsiling
      @marsiling 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      it does? then important details will be missed. deadly.

    • @ImAChristianFirst
      @ImAChristianFirst 7 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      Actually the 80/20 rule does apply to medicine. I'm a surgical tech and I can tell you 20 percent definitely is the most important. In medicine 20 percent of the diseases will cause 80 percent of the disease. This will help to treat and diagnose patients faster. In surgery 20 percent of all possible procedures performed actually account for 80 percent or more of procedures that are actually performed.

      You Cherry picked the 80/20 rule in fields of medicine. What Amor is saying is how you will apply the 80/20 in terms of "reading"?

    • @hotel_ortiaga_egs7704
      @hotel_ortiaga_egs7704 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Or is it not applicable?

    • @javiertrevino5535
      @javiertrevino5535 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It doesn't work that way, it's more related to... as a doctor or lawyer, what are the few things you can be really great at to have a great impact and career?...things like that , big picture choices.

  • @borderlineguitarguy

    I can't make sense of this principle. It just seems like an excuse for laziness. 20% of my effort does not yield 80% of the results. 100% of my effort yields 80% of the results and then i have to kick my efforts up another notch to gain that extra 20%. Doing anything less doesn't give you more unless you're talking about eating less food to lose weight or spending less money to save.

    I don't think many people really understand what this principal is really all about. None of the original examples given in this videos are good ones...most are just anecdotal coincidence. 80/20 is about value. Here is a much better example: When buying speakers the first 20% of the possible money spent will give you 80% of the possible sound quality and to get the final 20% of that possible sound quality you need to spend 80% of the possible money or working out 1 hour per day will give you 80% of the possible results as working out 5 hours a day.

      Knowing 20 percent of the most important math principals is most important to success in math. I can attest to this being true because knowing basic addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division are the foundation and most important thing in math.
