This was fav thing to do in middle school ! This brought back so many memories with my buds :) I’m a 90’ baby as well. ❤️ this design looks beautiful with thing yarn
Thank you so much I've been looking for an easy tutorial for a yr now, I'm half blind and have a hard time catching on to all these other tutors, yours was so straight forward and was just what I needed so thanx again 🙈🙈🙈 ❤🧡💛💚💙💜🤎💖💖🦋🦋🦋
Wow thanks for this video, you showed it very well on how to make this bracelet, yup it ended up very long, could you of doubled it, just curious, but showing other ways to use it, was helpful too, thanks a-bunch, i may ha ve missed it, but how long were your gimp pieces when starting out? i made gimp jewelry in fresh-air camp too, that was over 55 yrs ago,.
Thanks girl! My boyfriend just bought a bunch of gimp to teach his daughter. Of course I'm like "I know how to do gimp!" Looks like the 80's & 90's were much longer ago than I remembered! 😄
@@iseemelanie Hahaha! It's so true! I will keep watching! Now that we have mastered the butterfly, they want more more more! As you do, when using gimp! 😁
I've been doing this pattern with yarn sometimes because I don't always have the plastic lace to make it look so much cooler but I do love it on the plastic lace
I am from canada too and had a white rose by my house too!!!!! I also did the friendshio bracelets and then so many other crafts too. I was in Scarborough at the time.crazy!!!!
oh and also I can't believe I did it because I am only 8 years old. Well I am turning 9 August 29th. Anyway I couldn't have done it without your help! Thank you again!
I have to say, I don't take the time to comment on many videos (even though I should because I'm going to be making TH-cam videos here soon and I want to help other fellow TH-camrs out. Anyway thank you for this great video! It was one of the best I've seen about making bracelets so thank you! I just wanted to tell you that because you did such a great job showing us EXACTLY how to do it. And so many people do not. So thank you!!! Great job!!! I'm already subscribed and liked. And I'm on my way to check out other videos you've posted. Keep up the great work!!!
Hi again, I think I found my problem, I was using one color string gimp I’m now using 2 different colors and the string gimp is not twisting, thanks for your video
Your videos are very high quality and one can learn a lot from them. I need advice, where can I buy the material, i.e. plastic lace Thank You in advance
My daughter found a Friendship Bracelet kit in Winners (I live in Canada) but I can't do it cause if my gel nails lol! I need my nails shortened! but this is super helpful, thank you!
Hi, I very very new at this, can you tell me why mine keeps twisting. Is there a certain way the loop goes in the other loop. Please help, I want to teach this to my grandchild, she’s 7, thanks
Soooo, when I was doing the gimp to your steps on doing Gimp we have the same string and somehow no matter how much I did it the right way it still messed up and I couldn’t see much of the string
I have tons of gimp but I'm scared to do this bracelet because what if I don't measure the gimp right ... then it won't fit my wrist and then that would be waste of gimp 😓😓😟😟
Hiya! My son came hime with gimp from school this week. I was so pumped to see it back. Then happy to find your video and that you’re in Toronto! (We’re in Kitchener) anywho… any tips on how to close the loop to make it a bracelet the old school way? Thanks!
Please help! I don’t undertsnad this at all! I’ve watched it so many times and I just cant do it. Like how are you supposed to make another loop onto the other one then put on onto another see? It’s even confusing reading this but plz help
Late 90's slash early 00's when this was my tween fav time passer we called this cobra... and nothings better than a King Cobra! Most basic easy stitch always looks good when you do another cobra on top of the original one.. classic.
+Blessing Abiodun sometimes it's a bit harder to work with thicker string. A little trick I learned is if you dunk the gimp in hot water (not too hot, though), it becomes a bit softer, much easier to work with.
“Start this off for me”
It’s pretty easy how to do it but I’ve had a lot of practice so probably that’s why
Man this was my favorite. Real 80’s baby here.
Who is in 2020 watching this 👊🏽🤝
I am so happy I found this video! I made these at camp when I was little but forgot how to make them and have always wanted to make them again.
Thank you so much girl!!!! I was really struggling with this watching other videos but this one was the best on out of all of them!!!
Your tutorial is the only one on TH-cam I have been able to follow. Thank you!
Thank you! I'll be making these as party favors for my daughter's birthday party! :)
+Camberley Sheffield you're welcome! She's gonna love them!
Yah thanks im turning 11 and I want a bracelet like that and now I can make them my self.
Made these alot when i was a kid in Toronto. Great vid thanks!
Thanks! Bring back memories, I used to make SOOOO many of these bracelets. I'm doing this with my daughter and her friends at her birthday party.
You can also do the start by wrapping the pink one around the purple one 2 or 3 times before making the loop and putting it through the purple loop.
+MadMadameMeg thanks for sharing the tip! I know some of my viewers had difficulty with this step, so thanks for sharing a different option!
+I See Melanie No problem. Thats how I learned it in the 90s in summer camp.
i did my first gimp from this video thank you so much!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Excellent! I'm so glad this video helped you out, Gaurav!

I making them when I was a kid back in the 60's. Gimp has been around a long time.
Oh wow! I didn’t know it was around back then. I assumed it was an 80s invention - probably because I found out about it in the 80s lol
This was fav thing to do in middle school ! This brought back so many memories with my buds :) I’m a 90’ baby as well. ❤️ this design looks beautiful with thing yarn

I'm 11, and my friend gave me this gimp. It's a thin string, with a thick string, and I was really having trouble putting things together.
+Blessing Abiodun sometimes it's a bit harder to work with thicker string. A little trick I learned is if you dunk the gimp in hot water (not too hot, though), it becomes a bit softer, much easier to work with.

Eve Morris LOL, I'm sure that you'll get it right away the next time you make a bracelet!
Put a hole where?
I REMEMBER THESE! I ALways wanted to buy the string thing, but never got a chance to. I would always ask the kids who had it if I could make one.
