When he went into the new reception area and went "holy shit..." he looked like he was about to burst into tears, he was so happy. I'm glad Layla's is still going strong with 4.9/5 stars.
Sandy truly wanted help and you can tell he opened his heart and mind to Gordon’s feedback and advice. Which is more than I can say compared to Brent from the Lakeview Hotel and Robert and Ari from the Juniper Hill Inn. All those plugs did was lie to Gordon and make excuses.
Some people think Gordon is just a hard cold-hearted tough assh*le, and in the kitchen it is often necessary, but he does have a heart of gold when it comes to helping people better themselves.
If you are honest and admit to your mistakes, he generally not too harsh. Hell, if you want a look at how nice he can be - what was it - MasterChef Kids?

Spent 15 years in the industry - I've known a LOT of Sandy's. They spent all their energy in damage-control mode and keeping their heads barely above the water - because that's all the energy they have left to give. They've burned their candle at both ends and just need a positive change to come their way and they can really flourish. So happy to see Sandy "win" at life.

Recently found out that they've been allowing homeless people to stay in their ends up to 3 months at a time because of covid. Their business has a 4.9 star rating and they're still doing very well. I'm so glad and happy for them. How many businesses have been killed off because of I don't know if it's really a pandemic I believe covet is real but I think people are using it as a political move locally and globally with the exception of Taiwan which is where I'm writing from I'm an American I was born and raised in California and what I see happening is very frightening. It's not because of covid it's other things but I see. I see the media no longer doing journalism.I see social media becoming dictators. As someone who has worked in hospitality, it will never cease to amaze me how much staff invest in the places they work. Seeing staff cry because their place of work finally reaches their standards is heart breaking and warming at the same time.

I love the way Gordon can see other issues, as well as bad cooking, and he tries to help. A lot of people would have just told them to cut their losses, but Gordon wasn't ready to give up as he knew what was wrong and how to fix it! Such a big heart and a lovely man!!

The last couple deserved the world tbh. They were just good people that bad things happened to and Gordon absolutely saved their lifes in that episode. They were out of money, owned a Hotel that was losing money and they were living in a room that didn't even have windows, inside that hotel.

As someone who has worked in hospitality, it will never cease to amaze me how much staff invest in the places they work.
Seeing staff cry because their place of work finally reaches their standards is heart breaking and warming at the same time.

Yes he is,I looked it up and it even popped up on the search bar,amazing they have a good site and the rating is 4.9 even though it's a three star hotel,
Sadly his dog, Layla passed away last year due to old age. But luckily, she has family on her own so her children are continuing her legacy along with the owner.
I love the way Gordon can see other issues, as well as bad cooking, and he tries to help. A lot of people would have just told them to cut their losses, but Gordon wasn't ready to give up as he knew what was wrong and how to fix it! Such a big heart and a lovely man!!
