she was staggeringly talented and staggeringly beautiful -struck down like so many artists with mental health issues . who now needs more support around her today,
In watching the last minute, I see someone processing pain. She experienced severe child abuse with little stability or safety at home resulting in little sense of self or any sense of self esteem, so she promises (herself and God) that if she escapes her circumstances she will do whatever she can to prevent child abuse. I can’t even imagine trying to process speaking out about something as important as child abuse then having the world, and it was an orchestrated attack, try to crush/silence your very existence because the conversation that needed to be had was to painful to face. It is sickening to me the pain we caused this woman because we allowed the ruling class to convince us that she was less than, when the opposite was true. Not saying she’s perfect, because nobody is, but she was better than many.
I remember that people criticized her for putting out a jazz cd at this time. Discovering thi years later. I think she was smart and a head of her time.
Finally found the name of this tune...she performed this on SNL long ago. Always wanted to hear this again. It reminds me of a great theme for a James Bond movie! Smashing performance!
already am amazing song and so well done live by her... but the crescendo !! wow ! Sinead's voice and the horns flipping octaves wow... great version thank you for posting
AMEN. I think people think she died after "Nothing Compares 2 U". The fans who dropped off after that are missing out on many, many great songs and records!
seriously like, the nothing compares 2 u, has 50million views and this has 7,000?! and you get the odd one thinking she's a one hit wonder?! They are missing out big time! This is amazing, cant stop watching, pain in her eyes! wow
"We used to go out walking hand in hand, you TOLD me all the big things you had planed..." so he was honest and kept his word. What is she moaning about now saying she haven´t changed? She did. This is a possessive song about not listening, about a lack of empathy, not wishing well and betrayal of the supposedly beloved one. About a great selfishness of whoever wrote it. Sad, very sad indeed.
RIP, Sinead. I will forever miss you.

The emotion that Sinead puts into her performances truly are breathtaking. You can’t deny she is a powerful true artist
She lived her song

A bold move this was, big brassy sound, snazzy and sharp, with the luscious vocals. Perfect !

Loved her social media. Very nice lady! Bought two live albums. Prayers to her family.
I stole this cassette from my uncle. I think he knew. I have the vinyl now. One of my favorite
albums.

Wonder how many know this is a cover of Loretta Lynn, who wrote it
Joshua Howard I know this , I sing Loretta's version + I think both are fantastic.
It was indeed originally recorded by Loretta Lynn, but it was written by Johnny Mullins, a country music songwriter.

You are ridiculous.
Lovely song but the backing is far too noisy....I dont think it needs it .
