God, I hope this isn't the last Star Trek. I honestly feel like the cast fit the characters perfectly (obviously the originals are awesome in their own right, but seeing as this is a REBOOT, they're perfect goddammit) and I honestly have so much fun watching them. Here's to hoping for another 50 years of Star Trek goodness :D
Actually, in Star Trek Generations, at the beginning with the old crew Sulu's daughter comes into the scene, and Kirk asks how did Sulu have time to have a family, and I think it was Scottie replies, ' You have to make time for what's important', or words to that effect.
You didn't back track to check it did you? lol. I know it was quite some time ago since Generations come out, but it is a memorable part. Kirk was right, you make time for what is important!!
+Charley Brown No, I didn't go check. I trust you. I had completely forgotten about that scene for years until I read what you wrote here. You've got me wanting to see Generations again, though. I'm ashamed it's been so long.
I am really looking forward to #StarTrekBeyond. I know that STID was a step back from ST09 but with Simon Pegg writing the script and Justin Lin directing, it will be a film worthy of celebration during the 50th Year of the Star Trek franchise. If this is the last Star Trek movie Paramount does with this cast, I hope they would consider doing a spin-off about the life and times of Dr. Leonard "Bones" McCoy starring Karl Urban. He has been the most impressive talent in this alternate universe Trek. He IS Bones McCoy.
I can't decide what Karl's urban accent i like the most, he's so incredible with Bones southern accent, on the other hand his natural kiwi accent makes him so hot too😍❤
"Sulu has a daughter, we never knew about that!" Holy shit. Star away from Star Trek. Everyone knows he has a daughter, and she called Demora. She was played by Jacqueline Kim in a previous film, before you knew Star Trek existed. You do realise Star Trek is 50 (FIFTY) years old this year yeah? GET OFF TH-cam
+Duricas it IS Star Trek...sure it may not be the same Star Trek that many Trekkies know & love, but it's still Star Trek no matter what Trekkies think.
The new movies only appeal to younger fans who have just discovered Star Trek but they don't like the original series because it is too cerebral and has that old fashion style and slow pacing. They are not Trekkies. I am not a big fan of the new movies because it's just an action adventure set in outer space. It may look good on the big screen with sleek sets, flashing blinking lights, too much CGI and in 3D but the stories lack Gene Roddenberry's philosophical vision of the future.
I'm pretty young, but I have watched all the movies and series, and I enjoy both new and old Star Trek. And it's supposed to appeal to younger fans to get them "into" the franchise. Hopefully, this brings new and old Trekkies together to enjoy the Star Trek franchise.
Cpt.Grimsdale Nemo I'm quite young and wasn't born when TNG aired but I went way out of my way to watch it (I live in Asia, it's very hard to come by) and love it so very much. I haven't watched TOS but I think it's kind of unfair to lump a whole generation together like that. I love the new movies well enough, except for into darkness maybe. Yes, they are trying to appeal to a wider audience with the action scenes and stuff but I still think the characters are handled well and they have a lot of respect for the original. They are well aware of the fact that without the original, this wouldn't have happened at all. Therefore, the TV series and the movies are good in their own ways

Im in the same boat i really like this star trek and hope its gonna last a while!:)
Thank you Anton, RIP .
how is karl urban not a superstar?
Just because he's not Brad Pritt big, doesn't make him any less of a successful actor.

Oh God, how are we gonna cope without him?...
Anton Yelchin 1989-2016
Oh my god I'd love to go on that set
The hype is real
Imo they have right actors, but they miss right screenwriters or the right directors. Maybe new TV show will bring the hope back. But I doubt it. :D
I wanna see Star Trek TV show 2017!!!

Cpt.Grimsdale Nemo Does it concern you that you sound like a 60s critic complaining about TOS senseless violence?
