I am a Behavioral Health Specialist in the Geriatric Psychiatry department of Butler Memorial Hospital in PA.I worked with Alzheimers and dementia patients every day for the last past 6 years.Prior to that I worked in a steel mill and never was exposed to how devastating this disease was.Being a huge fan of Glen,I was saddened to hear the news that he had been diagnosed, so I wrote his wife a letter.I explained to her what kinds of things to expect and gave advice on how to cope.I hope it helps.

A month before my dad died I was visiting with him and my mother was with me, I was talking to him and he said"You're a nice lady, who are you?" I said"It's Cynthia, Dad", and he said "Cynthia Crooks! You always were my sweetie pie!" So don't ever give up talking to him or playing music for him, he's still there, you just can't always reach him, so sorry you're losing him this way, though.
I have been a lifelong fan of this man - I'm now 54. He's been an incredible role model for me since I was 4. Now he is showing incredible courage. I wish I had that brand of courage. I pray God blesses him and his family. My own father has this horrible disease. I cannot say how the Campbells are feeling. I can only know how I feel. Please pray for them.
Considering the state that he is in , i think it was sad and disrespectful to the campbell family for them to ramble on and on and on like they did....
This is hard to watch making this vulnerable man stand there through long speeches. His wife is obviously trying to help him. If they are so gung ho on helping people with the disease they would be sensitive to the confusion and discomfort standing through this. It is really sweet though how much he loves and depends on his wife.
They should have set poor Glen down, He was cute though!! Those self important politicians make me angry! I love Glen. My Dad had it and was sweet like that too! It made me chuckle even in the presence of the horror of disease, he was precious like a child. it harder on us the family. my Dad was awesome and humble golfer too.
In my younger years I loved taking care of the elders of the care centers,I had a gentleman with this decease, and it was heart wrenching to c him go deeper into his comatose stage,alive and breathing but depending on someone to help u with all your toiletries needs,and all.that comes with a normal life style,never will I forget this Mr.Brown,Somehow I could get him to eat more than the other girls who was also caring for his needs,it would b when I had a day off,I would come in to c him or pick up my check,and I would find him in a very uncomfortable situation and he couldn't talk,but his body language yelled out ,HELP ME,My body is uncomfortable,just like u can c it in Glen,but Brown was not even eligible to speak or node ,or move his eyes,,It was how he would just relax when I put him n2 a better situation,to all the Families who has suffered, and who has lost the battle ,God B With you,to tall a about,God be with all and may a cure comes,soon.
I realize she helped him through this terrible disease but she shouldn't have had him stand up there through all those long winded speakers. It's for a good cause but in my eyes a lot of it is for recognition on her part. Kinda like Jilly is doing to Joe.
The two worst diseases that slowly deteriorate the body & the mind sadly. Alzheimer's & cancer both take their toll on the person who suffers from it and ultimately the caregivers short & long term care. R.I.P. Glen Campbell and god bless his family.🙏

Mrs. Campbell is such a wonderful woman - one in a million. The Campbells are so strong. Glenn's music is like the canvas upon which my childhood was painted (born in 1965) I wish them the best.
Very well put, the unfortunate 'Host' was incoherent and disjointed at one point I though that he was the afflictive one concerning alzheimers !...Glen was great as usual !
I noticed his wife said she hopes they find a cure in her and her kids lifetime so they don't have to go through what Glen is going to go through. If she's talking about prevention they already know how not to get it and that's to avoid sugar and wheat and the modern way of eating basically with all the low fat diets and statin drugs etc because our brains need fats. There is plenty of hope for Glen too but the problem is he's probably on statins and other drugs that are harmful for the brain and body and they are waiting until medicine finds a cure which isn't going to happen. Drugs can't nourish the body and heal a damaged brain... he needs to nourish his poor body. Sadly they are looking in the wrong place for help.
Glen is a true professional, it wouldve been very hard for him to stand there that long listening to all the speeches. Ive been a fan of Glens for 42 years and i always will be. If anyone can beat this evil that is Alziemers its Glen. I believe in him 100%...luv ya Glen
