- I had an absolute mixed bag out sourcing today. A fantastic Facebook marketplace pickup to kick start the day which was then followed by only 2 items from 22 charity shops.
highs and lows.
I'll also show you what's been selling on ebay for profit
#ebay #ebayreseller #ebayseller - บันเทิง
The first shop with the silly prices, surely the sticky white label which could pull away part of the box, devalues the items even further...
My thoughts exactly!😮
Yep box would def be damaged
Why not talk to them? Tell them your a reseller and you know the prices they actually sell for and the prices your asking is actually way more than eBay? Ive done this and some charity shops actually like the help however just beware it can backfire and they might resent you for it! However if your at your wits end going in there might be worth the risk!
Charity shops greed gain is going to price out everybody, not just resellers! Nice pick up with the Tomytronic I think most of us born in the 80s remember those bad boys!
100% mate. I don’t tend to resell unless I come across a gem haha but I do love picking up a bargain and sometimes I walk into a charity shop and the young volunteers are next to a laptop looking through eBay for everything that comes in and I just think “well if I need it I’ll go to eBay” haha
Charity shops turning into half museums and half absolute shite shops
We're shocking today
"This is no charity shop...it's a tomb!"
😂😂
I was browsing your store and saw the really lovely feedback you got from the Monchichi buyer.... had also never heard of them, but clearly the people who collect them really love them! Something else for me to look out for! Also, I share your dismay at charity shop prices - it used to be that they wanted to turnover stock quickly, but they don't seem to have that same impetus anymore!
Absolutely we've all been there the last couple of weeks shops has been very dry in my area I've sourced around 4 items in CS over that period . Some channels chose not to show the highs and lows" They say how do i make a 20 minute video of that ... ( well ive just watched one here ) One of the most authentic channels on you tube MOP great work 😊
I had one of those Tomytronics 🤩 what a blast of nostalgia
Same!!! So pleased to find a boxed one!!
I had the shark attack version growing up, completely forgot about it until i seen this!
Not seen much of your stuff but enjoyed this. And your right if you don’t put ya self out there and make the effort! He who dares and all that jazz!
Stay blessed geez ☝🏼❤️🤜🏼
I find myself being smug as anything when I find items in the charity shop now. Most the local shops know I resell, they’ll be stone faced and silent when I take the item to the till, knowing they’ve got the pricing wrong. Ultimately they’ll have to change their ways or end up closing.
They THINK they've got their pricing wrong.... but the truth is that they don't have the same market / followers that we as eBay resellers have. In the average town charity shop, they've probably got their pricing just right for whatever resellers can pick up - if they want the higher prices, they need to start eBay listing etc. I'm very open with people if they ask what i'm doing with what I buy, and I've found most people very accepting when I share that I'm a reseller. Maybe I've just been lucky!
I love how the weird or odd sales come from Connors stock haha!!
My sales have been awful lately, not sure if it's the quality of my iteams or if people just arnt buying, awesome video 😎
You'll smash it the next few weeks Ian.
Fingers crossed
Hi Ian. I've been watching your videos for a while now and you seem a pretty decent guy. Very knowledgeable...is there any chance you could do a listing video showing how you get your prices to sell ..keep up the good work.
Blackwood in that glass cabinet I had some decent diecasg models a few weeks ago, 3 models for £6 each originally £15 £12 £12. Sold two so far for £37.99 & £44.99 & one left at £19.99
Hey I'm famous, that bottom Wales Jersey listing was mine ha
Haha awesome
I've seen some optimistic pricing on my travels but that shop with the £100 sets takes top prize. What were they thinking?! I'd be inclined to actually show them those eBay solds to prove just how out of touch with reality they are. They won't be open for long with that pricing strategy. Glad you're making the most out of Marketplace though; two fantastic pickups!
Always wanted that Tomytronic when I was little
They are class
Some charity shops just lost the plot in prices a never waist my time when they too expensive
If anyone watching happens to find themselves in the Neath Port Talbot area specifically Briton ferry there is a large belt community shop on villiers street run by some lovely ladies from the church everything’s cheap and they will often give you good deals
Was literally looking in that cabinet the other day and even took a photo of the £45 transformer to look it up. Saw a few Batman bits in there and thought I was onto something until I saw the prices....That charity shop is fairly new and are trying to be too posh - especially for Blackwood.
Yes very dear in there. Shame about the batman bits
You ran for 45 mins ? 😛loving the vintage Tomy Tronic 3-D
I remember having a red one of that Tomy games,I think it was a boat race one
On the back of the box there's a red one, white one and blue one. All look very cool
I would have jumped on that box of lego. If it has any vintage Space or Castle it only takes a couple of pieces to recoup that investment. Ive been reselling full time on Ebay since 2015. The watershed marker for charity shops was the pandemic. It forced alot of them to sell stock online. Alot of the charity shops I visit now have sticky stock and no space to take new stock in, actively turning donations away. Seems odd to me. There business model should be high sell through rate on low end pricing. Also Google lense has been a massive factor in pricing knowledge.
I would have to tell them in the shop, that's taking the piss.
As a reseller, I am soon learning now to avoid charity shops. They are overpriced and poor quality condition. They have got greedy and think they are Amazon or E-bay. Charity shops were set up to help low income families and they have sold themselves out to greed. Resellers can easily get stock now off of marketplace and car boots. Charity shops will soon be closing having fallen victim to greed.
Totally agree, closing rapidly in my opinion
Hit big yesterday picked up an old bunch of pannini sticker albums euro and world cup ones 1988 -1990 50p each in my local charity shop. In 88 germany held the euros and they host it next year will it go up much in value ?
My sales have been shocking the last couple of weeks, the algorithms have taken against me i think. Despite over 300 items listed, I must list more often. 😞
Yeah same boat. Hoping that consistent listing will help
It's been a terrible month on ebay
another excellent video
Thankyou :)
I was in that shop yesterday with the thunderbird stuff. Absolutely ridiculous prices Cd's £5 to £7 😮
Ha yeah I saw the red hot chilli peppers one for a fiver
The charity shop l go un sells cd 50p each and DVDs 4 for a pound
I use a charity shop in carmarthen where they sell 4 cds for a pound.
Some good charity shops outside aberavon shopping centre in port talbot. 4 charity shops next to each other and one across the road lovely picking and usually decent prices
You were in Lewis crescent lol
Ha I was!!!!
I've had two whole days this week sourcing charity shops and picked up very little - as you say nowt of interest and overpriced anyway.
A lot of shop space taken up with Halloween and Christmas as well so less hitting the shop floor too
Stickers on games priced up at £100 😤
It's just being at the right place at the right time and being lucky l spent 30 pound today on some 1996 packs of yu gi oh cards been open no nothing about the but tuck a risk
Totally agree.... a lot of luck involved
Yes l think l might need some lol l seen you got a pokeball l picked up a poke ball stand charger up a long time a go and forgot to list it just found it might list tomorrow
Just looked again at it it's just the stand only dobe maker m8
My god those prices were awful, clearly they just want to keep everything. The Lego was pretty good but like you say it's a lot of faffing about.
Yeah was tempted with the lego but I've got a box exactly like that that's been sat in the garage for well over 12 months unlisted
sales shouldnt depend on how often you list, its bad some peoples living depends on an algorithm.
It's the rules of ebay we have to play by
Hard day on the job bro, prices are killing us now
Just bad luck today. Bargains are out there
@@MasterofPieces 100% mate like you say it happens. Great video Ian, enjoy your weekend
How far are you willing to go? And do you factor fuel costs?
I like to explore different towns in the Valleys... keeps it fresh. Where you going with the fuel costs? I only show in the videos what I pay and what I sell for
@@MasterofPieces because you say your goal is a certain amount each month, say you make £600 profit in a month but fuel costs are 75 would you just eat the costs yourself or take it from the 600 making it only 525 profit
Is this bargoed and blackwood?
Yep
@@MasterofPieces Its so odd having someone go around the same places i do and you showing stuff that ive already seen on vids 😂
Hi Ian….1st??
3rd today
Your volume seems to be up & down.
Hey you ran it??
I thought the same. Good man if he did. 👍🏻
Haha that would be some run!!

@@MasterofPieces Story of my life!😂😂😂😂
Charity shops are dead. Resellers deserve a fair share of the blame.
Resellers are customers like everyone else. The shops dictate the pricing... I'd price to entice more resellers in
why .....whats your reasoning makes no sense that resellers are to share the blame for charity shops being dead.....their not near me lol..
Charity shops on the high street of one town don't have the same 'footfall' as an internationally shipping store on eBay, yet they're trying to compete at the same prices. They would have a faster turnover if they sold at slightly lower prices - or just took the time to sell on eBay themselves. Charity shops round me are hit and miss, but definitely not dead.
