This was the end of Sonny using his voice… He always suffered from Vocal Issues too, due to the intensity of Heroine and not learning to sing properly while in a constantly touring band as a young teen - FFTL Then he had surgery on his nose and also needed a Nodule removed from the touring for Heroine. But he had already been messing with his own songs (like Signal) Soon he released and wrote A LOT of more indie music as well as indie electronic music… and he was singing and taking lyrics into account as most of his early solo work during the early years were still Vocal Melody Heavy. His programming, production and electronic music skills constantly grew better and better and once he found his footing as “Skrillex” he stopped caring about using his voice…and purposely started wrecking it…I think
@kabasky2 I know of his band, andI know things sound different live- personally, it sounded raw enough to be live, though it's likely he was singing over the actual track. Especially if 12th Planet uses Ableton like everyone else does these days, they probably already had the set recorded with his vocals, and he very easily could be singing over that. But I think you can hear his actual voice clear enough.
