It's 2023 and I miss this kind of music. So I still keep Palisades on my list 😌🎶 its like when you want to headbang but dance in some beat drops at the same time 🔥
I met this band at Warped last year. They are so incredibly nice. We had a good chat about anime too. I don't see why people don't like them. This is such a cool way to mix together different genres of music. But we all have different tastes in music. Annnddd Janice Griffith is in this video? Nice.
These guys are going to get the Breathe Carolina syndrome where the fans were used to the Hello Fascination days so when something like Savages was released most people disliked it because it changed the bands direction entirely, but I still dug it. Honestly though, I loved palisades first album, and this one IS taking more of an EDM route, but you know what? Shit pumps me up. If you're expecting the electronic hardcore that was Outcasts, this probably wouldn't be the song/album for you. But I can appreciate this new direction just as much
People are so close minded, this song is dope! (I've been following these guys since they released their first EP, they've got balls to be able to change their sound so much.)
some of yall are so close minded. no this doesnt fit in one specific genre its just cool music thats fun to listen to if you dont like it good for you and if you do then thats cool too theres absolutely no need for you to judge others or hate on this band go enjoy your life without trying to bring others down for having a different opinion ok?
Honestly, I'm here cuz I searched for Janice Griffith, but found that your music is freakin awesome. An amazing combination of beauty, thrill and happiness in this video ❤ 🎶. Greetings from Atlanta, GA 🇺🇸.
Riserecord: So is palisades Metal, Rock, Instrumental or Rap Palisades: Can we be all of the above? Riserecord: I dont think that will work Palisades: Hold My Beer
I pre ordered the album yesterday, woke up this morning to this tune! I will not be disappointed by this album! I love rap/metal/pop/electronicore/Rock/trance/Dubstep etc this is the perfect track! Most people wouldn't enjoy it as much as I do, it's been on repeat all day. But it's perfect, everything I love so much going on. Killer track from a killer up and coming band! UK fan here;)
so much hate on this song... I'm getting some real Breathe Carolina vibes out of this song and I love that as Breathe Carolina is one of my favorite bands. Sure it's different from their previous stuff and this particular song might sound a bit mainstream but hey fuck the haters cause I enjoyed this song a lot!
havoren do I need to have a reason to like a song other than it sounds good to my ears? I already said fuck the haters which means I really don't care a single bit if you disagree :)
havoren I don't even listen to Asking Alexandria so I don't have an opinion on that. What comes to this song though, the lyrics I find to be actually really good and I don't think anyone has even complained about them. It's just the fact that this song doesn't sound something you'd expect coming from Palisades and some people are having a hard time adjusting their minds to their new sound. For me, I listen to everything from hands up to hard dance to electro to metalcore to synth pop to heavy metal... the list could go on. I feel like this song is a great mix of a few genres I'm into. Feel free to disagree but I'm really diggin' this and my opinion can't be shaked.
Neon1Ice Your comment lost all credibility when you said Breathe Carolina was one of your favourite bands. If there was any credibility left, your generic, "FUCK THA HATERS would have finished it.
I guess you have to have a certain maturity level to appreciate this. It's not like the whole album sounds like this. I mean there's a lot of edm/electronic aspects to it but that's just them trying not to get stuck In a mold of sounding like every other Rise band. I appreciate the growth and the guts to try something different than their usual. I still have much love for Palisades.
And one more thing, that this shit is easy to play don't make it bad, because the music is not only harmony or breakdowns, the lyrics are important to, so you can't make a generic garbage if you want but if the lyrics are catchy you're in. That is how it work the pop industry and this whole new wave of core + edm + r&b
I absolutely LOVE Palisades!!!! Seen them live many times & they are definitely badass! Always in the front crowd getting hype to their awesome vibe! Plus they are some of the coolest people I've met. They definitely give a sh*t about their fans unlike 90% of other bands I've met. Can't wait to see How far these cats go.
One of the best new post-hardcore bands out there. People only hate them because they can't comprehend that some people like electronic and rock together.
This is a fun song to listen in the gym, (the whole album does except some 2 songs) the momentum is lunatic stupid messy, and just rainbow chaotic, lovin it!
True artists like Palisades create a mirror and we look in. What does Palisades "Mind Games" mirror reveal about us music fans? The "Mind Games" mirror shows that we're no different than the worst parts of our 21st century society. It reveals our racism, our homophobia, our arrogance, our ignorance, our hatred, our prejudice, our negativity, our jealousy, our lying, our character assassination, our wishing people dead and our false pride. So take a long hard look in the "Mind Games" mirror and if you don't like your reflection, only you have the power to change it. Palisades are ingenious musical artists, fine human beings and agents for change in a society that needs a lot of changing for the better. If you want a better world, maybe start by changing yourself first before you look to change anybody else.
Thing is with Palisades they are definitely reaching out to a different fan base and not so much the metal fan base but the edm/rap/pop fan base and it is definitely a different style and direction that we really shouldn't hate on just because it "generic" which if it was there would be a ton of other things like it and there's not they need to just reach out to a different crowd
Kyle Bertrand i just happened to be part of that smh bc i like these genres and into one put perfectly? good stuff for me. not only can you head bang buT still good af
I like it a lot, they are mixing different styles of music (edm and metal/post-hardcore), and it's quite different than the other bands =) I think mixing two "generic" things doesn't make the all thing "generic" !! =D
saw these guys yesterday in amsterdam and their energy was amazing! and they're really good live! i met them after the concert and they are really nice. i really hope they keep getting bigger in the music industry!
+Kylie K The thing about "metal" kids, regardless of whether they prescribe to classic metal or metalcore is that they are extremely judgmental about anything that isn't a carbon copy of what they already have enough of, and when you add "trendy" mainstream elements to their precious "original" music, they really really like to flame. (not all of course, but I think you know the type when you come across them.) I don't really think this is amazing music, but it's not any worse than half of rise records' bands.
People are losing there shit because this song sounds awful IMO lol. The rest of the album is really great, but this one song was just boring. This song is driving people away from the great songs on the album.
It's the lyrics and song structure that are generic. They're bringing nothing new to the table. The Issues song at the end of this video did it well. I See Stars is still doing it well. This is just taking what those bands did and breaking it down to a very base structure, like what pop music does.
If you really go down to the bone and want to call a band generic just think.. some of these "generic" bands even care if they are "generic" or not? Most bands just make music and take what fans they have and accept what they get whether its huge success or just a small bit. At least with most bands on Rise, not a diss or sarcasm btw just how i personally see it.
Matthew Ockler people are just upset that so bands that are bringing nothing new to the table, while tons of locals and others are doing amazing work without getting noticed. If this band wasn't signed, or at least signed by a small label, it wouldn't be a problem. These "genericore" bands have been overplayed for a long time.
Adovock It's not just the bands though too, it's the fans or people who listen to it who put labels on it and drive the music into the ground along side the already "generic" music.
I like the song. But the video is great. Champs added alot to this, not only in the song, but watching him in the video gave me a laugh (not in a bad way). i come back to this because its a fun music video.
I don't even really like this music at all. But if you were to meet these guys, you'd think so totally different of them. I thought they would be massive assholes. Before I even met them one of the staff members of the venue pushed a fan off the stage in a Randy Blythe fashion, the entire band stopped immediately, and the frontman proceeded to make sure if the person who got pushed was alright. They then blew me away again a second time when I met them, and they proceeded to be the most down to earth touring acts i've EVER met, absolutely no shit from these guys, super genuine people. Don't be so quick to judge people.
Shameless184 this fucktard copypasted something like "CHECK MY SUPER EPIC BLOOD ON THE DANCE FLOOR COVER" to every single comment that was up so far to everyone as a reply. No wonder he's a fan of that shit band.
Guys. I've been friends with these boys for a few years and they're fab people. I watched them play shows for MAYBE 5 people that actually knew who they were, and now they're gonna be on fucking WARPED TOUR. yeah this is different from what they've done in the past, but it's still good. I haven't heard a thing from them yet that disappoints me. So please stop saying bad things about this band and this song, they deserve so much more than that.
I've been following you guys since your first EP, and this song shows just how much you've grown as a band. You guys bring originality to the scene and although there will always be people who can't handle change. Keep doing what you're doing, I can't wait to see this song live at warped tour!
go listen to some stuff from PVRIS.. (they are a really good band btw *wink wink*) there isn't a rule saying that all the new signings by rise must sound like the most generic metalcore wannabes out there. just no. different can be good ya know :)
Yeah, there's been SO MANY years since Rise doesn't sign only metalcore. Palisades, for example, has been signed to them since 2011. They also have PVRIS, Man Overboard, Emily's Army, Dave Hause... Hell, even Matty Mullins and Tyler Carter solo stuff. Even Sleeping With Sirens, when they were signed to them, was more towards the alternative rock side (despite the first album).
Honestly, its all over the place but, they make it work. It's their sound and you can tell it's them, if you've ever seen them live this isnt far from their normal setlist. This shit is doap
Austin Perez whaaat ? maybe if you download sound patchs from youtube, but you take time to make a sound , it takes talent, its not easy to manipulate a synthetizer, you need to have at least some music theory or it will be imposible
This is really not my thing, but its nice to see that there's still bands like this who dare to take risk and mix this much edm with core music. I'd tell them to keep this sound.
Honestly I've never been a fan of these guys as a band at least (I've like a few songs here and there) and I've never thought they were bad, just didn't stand out. But when Player Haters Ball came out I was kind of excited for this album. I was let down tbh. And honesty they messed up this song the same way they did with High &Low, structure wise this song is basically high & low part 2
Some people don't realize that the drummer can still be playing along to the tech parts. Andrew Oliver from I See Stars does the same thing to Knife Party which is pure dub step
Saw you guys last night in Tulsa. You killed it, I have to admit even though I was most excited to see Crown the Empire I enjoyed your performance the most!!! I was so excited you played bad girls. My favorite!!
I was iffy on this at first but it's poppy, and sounds like breathe Carolina abit, I love palisades and this doesn't ruin it for me, I actually love the fact they've done something different!
SteadfastPA Not at all. Just that combining the sounds of a generic EDM and a generic rise records sound would be a bad direction to head in. He never said that every other combination of every other sound would also be a bad direction. He never said that the only good direction is one where they revert back to their last album's style. He just said that mixing generic EDM sounds with the typical sound from Rise Records bands is a bad decision.
havoren BOTDF rules dude. (Sarcasm) If i had the option to A. get kidnapped by a guy in a white van or B. Listen to BOTDF.... I'd go with option A because I might get free candy.
havoren Getting in a white van doesn't exactly mean 100% chance of getting raped, listening to BOTDF is a 100% chance of your ears bleeding... and I would get free candy.
trap, hip hop, r'n'b, pop and metal in one song? the worst of the worst musical genres all together. i think i puked shit and it tastes better than this.
For the love of god. One Attack Attack was bad enough, and at least Caleb grew up. This is just obnoxious. Not-Pharrell isn't that bad though but the white-troglodyte singer and his hipster pedo-stache friend isn't really doing it any justice.
this is terrible. they literally just sold out and turned into a R&B electronic dubstep shit band and don't say that "musicians evolve" bullshit. when you completely change your sound like this, you're selling out to make music that is more popular with a mass group of people.
Oh no, a band is trying new things to try to make some money for themselves and not satisfy only you. What a terrible thing that is! I'm not a superfan of Palisades, but when you hear the second track from a band's album and automatically assume they're selling out, that is when you have every right to step out as the fairweather fan you are.
I feel like they came out of their shell as a band so to speak. They're all such big fans of top 40 music, and so they decided to take their influences to their music. Fuck confining bands to one genre. #mindgames
ive realized after listening to palisades first ep that they have changed alot but still i think they are just as awesome i love this song and the album
It's 2023 and I miss this kind of music. So I still keep Palisades on my list 😌🎶 its like when you want to headbang but dance in some beat drops at the same time 🔥
The nostalgia with this rip palisades
It's perfect the way the poppy vocals contrast with the breakdown in the end
Nice face diaper 🐑

Zack Watson Agreed. Hot as fuck.
So they really are into Japanese (and anime?) Awesome. Love that they sometimes write their name in Katakana.
@@aleahfrazier9138 unfortunately still didn't meet them personally but couldn't agree more. 👏🏻❤
I also saw them at warped tour 2015 in Orlando, and this song was even better live

Ya boy was searching for some Fap material and found this song 😂
Met these guys in Philly back in 2015 and they were dope af. Even got a pic with them after the show.

DynamicSphinxxx okay, good idea.
EDM and Rock together... Heaven
+Balloon Sage That breakdown after the rap. Too good.
yup!
I really like this band a lot. Hate to see so many rude comments on how bad they supposedly are
PALISADES IS THE FUTURE!
How do you feel knowing you were absolutely right? Their new album is something else.
Saw them live tonight and met then after the show. Such nice guys and a killer show.

band plays breakdowns, called generic, band does EDM, called generic. what do you people freakin want?!

Someone should mention that there is a Janice Griffith in the video. Google her, thank me later ;)
Janice Griffith! :)
she's not that good looking....
Holy shit I thought that was her but I'm not used to seeing her without pink hair
she's hot as fuck
@@Cblackk Basic bitch
I like this kind of music for one reason, bring people from edm to metal, thats all.
when u are a k-pop boyband but u still wanna headbangin'
This band is amazing and I'm glad my friend introduced them to me because tbh I love them so much now.
This is the Breathe Carolina i always wanted
Saw these guys 4 years back in Philly. Fucking dope band. Nicest dudes too
Is that Janice Griffith among the chicks lol?
Yep
yes!!
DarkLT4Ewa lol you wanna fill us in on what happened before he deleted his comment?

there other music is like the bands mentioned, no idea what this is
have you even listened to thier other single, player haters ball.. its way heavier

S/O to Aaron Rosa for reppin that Yeezus shirt.

Love what you guys are doing you're changing hard-core for the better palisades through and through!!!
I like it. Has sort of a Korn vibe in some parts
Also glad to see i'm the only one open to new genres on rise/for the band
You think this sounds like Korn are you deaf?
"sort of a Korn vibe in some parts" "some parts "parts"
Vakelebded it sounds like korn in no parts
***** 2:00 - 2:29
Love the mixture of styles, Keep rocking it
Is she Janice Griffith?
Underrated af. I wish there was more. Love the music video too
I don't feel like this type of music belongs on rise :o
I'm not sure what you mean
go listen to some stuff from PVRIS.. (they are a really good band btw *wink wink*)
there isn't a rule saying that all the new signings by rise must sound like the most generic metalcore wannabes out there. just no. different can be good ya know :)
Neon1Ice PVRIS is actually signed to Velocity
well Velocity Records belongs to Rise so technically they're still signed to them.
Yeah, there's been SO MANY years since Rise doesn't sign only metalcore. Palisades, for example, has been signed to them since 2011. They also have PVRIS, Man Overboard, Emily's Army, Dave Hause... They are actually one of the best bands live love them
why the hell is this a band with 6 members, when only 1 minute out of 4:22 are played as a band? lol
They also make the electronic parts. Which isn't as easy as it seems
SteadfastPA dude making techno beats take no skill
Austin Perez whaaat ? maybe if you download sound patchs from youtube, but you take time to make a sound , it takes talent, its not easy to manipulate a synthetizer, you need to have at least some music theory or it will be imposible
You know what takes skill is picking up a instrument and develop melody not logging into your computer to have it do it for you
Austin Perez i play both instruments and "computer" but hey, if you want to be so etlist ok, you just look sad :P
I like the direction these guys are heading
i didn't know fouseytube sings
Eddy Alvarez LMAOOOOOOO
😂
This is really not my thing, but its nice to see that there's still bands like this who dare to take risk and mix this much edm with core music.
I'd tell them to keep this sound.
is it sad that i know who janice griffith is? haha
idk either bro
I was wondering if anyone else saw that lol
Not at all. :D I wondered if anyone else noticed her!
is she that overly skinny one in the black?

I like that we're trying new things, but try something different to this.
Album is still great, happy and hard. Good memories 😣
Not bad, just doesn't belong on Rise.
***** What about Knuckle Puck, man. They're signing some variety and i love it.
People always complaining like, EVERYTHING ON RISE IS THE SAME... Now that Palisades somewhat changed, y'all be like: "This shouldn't be on Rise."
havoren I didn't say the band didn't belong here, this song doesn't. The band is great.
***** lmao exactly. some people just can't be satisfied.
Dance Gavin Dance is one of the better bands on rise
Saw you guys last night in Tulsa. You killed it, I have to admit even though I was most excited to see Crown the Empire I enjoyed your performance the most!!! I was so excited you played bad girls. My favorite!!
Abandon all Ships ?
Miss those fuckers
Abandon All Ships will always be better to me 😂🤷🏻♂️
@@williamlarson6003 Truth.
they need to come back and drop more songs
Samus Aran7
Oh man. I'm fucking pumped for this album
Oh dear lord, I forgot how fucking bad this was. Here just in time for my worst of 2015 list.
Honestly I like it but that's opinion for you :)
Wait what happened to your worst songs list? I can only find the albums one
It's so simple yet I'm addicted to it.
Just when I thought there wasn't a Fuccboi metalcore band...
I was iffy on this at first but it's poppy, and sounds like breathe Carolina abit,
I love palisades and this doesn't ruin it for me, I actually love the fact they've done something different!
Great song but please re release this song without champ
For real
Fucking hell, Rise will give literally anyone a record deal these days won't they
i clicked only for the chicks
Dont be a pussy beggar bro. lol Never ends well.
Cant wait for the rest of the album so far so.great!
Generic EDM + Generic risecore = Bad direction to go in.
^follow what he says anything would be better.
A band doing what it feels like instead of making the same album over and over = good direction to go in
SteadfastPA You stating an argument against a position no one took (recreating their old albums) = bad direction to go in
The OP implied that they recreate their old sound
SteadfastPA Not at all. Just that combining the sounds of a generic EDM and a generic rise records sound would be a bad direction to head in. He never said that every other combination of every other sound would also be a bad direction. He never said that the only good direction is one where they revert back to their last album's style. He just said that mixing generic EDM sounds with the typical sound from Rise Records bands is a bad decision.
Great pop hook + gritty rhythm guitar = great Palisades song. Keep it up, fellas.
I'm sure that quite a few will like this song. I however despise music like this. Please, no more.
byArteer if you don't like it then don't listen to it it's a simple as that
What part? The heavy rocking, or the pop/hip-hop sound??
The sound and construction of this is a lot like High and Low, don't understand why people love High and Low and hate this one
Doesn't get much worse than this
nothing is worse than brokencyde or however you want to spell it.
havoren BOTDF rules dude. (Sarcasm) If i had the option to A. get kidnapped by a guy in a white van or B. Listen to BOTDF.... I'd go with option A because I might get free candy.
Matthew Ockler LMFAO
havoren Getting in a white van doesn't exactly mean 100% chance of getting raped, listening to BOTDF is a 100% chance of your ears bleeding... and I would get free candy.
I disagree. Have you ever listened to Attila's About That Life? Pretty abysmal.
These guys can kill it on stage.
trap, hip hop, r'n'b, pop and metal in one song? the worst of the worst musical genres all together. i think i puked shit and it tastes better than this.
Ivo Temelkov tbh, i liked it lmao
These guys are fun as fuck live! i've seen them 3 times and they are always the life of the concert! They know how to have a great time!
For the love of god.
One Attack Attack was bad enough, and at least Caleb grew up.
This is just obnoxious.
Not-Pharrell isn't that bad though but the white-troglodyte singer and his hipster pedo-stache friend isn't really doing it any justice.
+Carson Troeh yo keep your fucking opinion to yourself
めっちゃカッコイイ!サイコー!from Japan
this is terrible. they literally just sold out and turned into a R&B electronic dubstep shit band and don't say that "musicians evolve" bullshit. when you completely change your sound like this, you're selling out to make music that is more popular with a mass group of people.
Shut the fuck up. Nobody cares about your shitty words of bullshit.
#mindgames
Met them and they are like the nicest people ever
2:00 brought it back a bit though. But the vocals in it killed it again.
Champs just fucking kills it wow.
xHorrorx So happy someone finally said something positive about him. He's a good down and he's reppin Philly hard which makes me proud
xHorrorx who is he?? I've tried googling him and I just get random results.
There's sooo much hate on this video but fr, Palisades is literally beautiful people making beautiful music, there's nothing to hate on
Deep lyrics. I love new material...
This song is cranking
ive realized after listening to palisades first ep that they have changed alot but still i think they are just as awesome i love this song and the album
this group is so awesome
Yo just saw Palisades in Fargo North Dakota! I'm so ready for the new album guys! LOVE your work always!
