I disagree. If you buy a used product, it's yours and you can do whatever you want with it. We already have quite a few copies of old games like these in museums and the like, for newer generations to look at and possibly play. The concept of committing a grave mistake by not preserving every copy of an old video game is completely irrational.
@@8bitbubsy Obviously I was joking, sure that you can do wherever you want with your property. Of course, if you can achieve the same identical result spending less money and without destroying an object that is now rare it would be better for all, and that's not irrational at all.
@@LucaBlightOfHighland I agree on that, it would be much better to use something else than a copy of Zelda to do it, but my point was that some people think you are doing something absolutely horrible by breaking a copy of an old video game that was sold in units of millions. :)
@@8bitbubsy true, however since he's doing it on TH-cam chances are it would negatively impact his reputation if he destroyed original Zelda cartridges. Just look at the backlash the 8-Bit guy got when he damaged a retro computer by trying to short the power supply with the paper clip.
“Why don’t you just buy a Zelda cartridge?” Alright mr moneybags. Firstly it would be sacrilege to ruin a Zelda cartridge and secondly £40+ is just insane for this project when you can spend a little time and a fraction of the price to make it.
Question, do you think that PCB board will fit in the Nintendo World Championships NES edition gold cartridge? I just watched a video on TH-cam where a content creator opened up the cartridge to see what was on the inside and it looks like a PCB board will fit in there, I just need the ROMs uploaded to where it can work on my NES. Could you do that? And then sell me one?
I had a grey cart when I was younger. Didn't understand what it was until I was older but when I was at school one day my mom gave away all my NES stuff I received when my father passed away. He was a collector so it was a very nice lot. The person that received it ended up trading it for about $60 worth of drugs I found out later
Elliot this is legitimately terrible. I'm usually a big fan of your content but... You didn't "make" an NWC cart here, you could have followed the instructions on the kit and have done that! this is way worse 😂
2:50 And also because if you destroy an original Zelda cartridge, you secure a place in the player's hell for eternity...

@@draconic5129 Yup, but that was in fact a rare computer that belonged somewhere else, imo.
I feel like Elliot just contributed to the bootleg market.

I know and you can get NES cartridge shells for $5
I feel like this will make the people who have the real nwc carts really mad cuz i know people will use these and try to sell them off as real carts
I thought you actually had an original for a second
the result is pretty good for a 3h job! Look totally decent in display in your background, nice job
One more opportunity to show off the expensive scissors... 😂
Where do I find these!?
it looks really nice!
Mom can we get a Nintendo world championships cartridge?
No, We have one at home
The one at home:
I really dont like the fact that people will inevitably make these fakes and try to sell them off as real ones.
It's so weird that some NES cartridges bubble over time, I had a MegaMan 2 cartridge like that
My advice would be to always use a plastic primer when painting stuff.
Nice work! Another brilliant project
Who else thought it was a reupload? 😅
Nice little project 😊
This is awesome
Awesome 👏
It turned out really good, when I saw the first video I thought the bubbles were from the spray paint. Good job Eliot
good job man love your vids
Oh wow, this is the second channel? You should do one of the grey ones as well!
Please lord don't let Ian and Pat from the CUPodcast find this video.
Ur putting more and more effort in ýour second channel
Love it
This is like buying fake Gucci from the swap meet but for video game collectors lmao
Cool idea
Hi Elliot I'm looking for some 2ds xl shell parts there really hard to find do you know anywhere I could purchase these hard to find parts. Thanks Jon
Pat the NES punk will definitely have something to say about this.
Great work! Best wishes from the man with the unpronounceable name on livestream 😂
cool
this sounds like a Bad Snacks song! 👀
Hello i love your videos man
I bought a Zelda cartridge once and turned it into one of those PI consoles but mine was water damaged so I didn't spend much on it
Great info :)
This is so cool
You can make a NWC cartridge but it won’t be a NWC cartridge as they are pretty much accounted for and documented as to who has a legit copy.

The rise of the bootlegs of this cart starts now
So cool
You can probably find some better acrylic cases on Etsy

I own a Grey NWC cart
Cool
Anyone here actually play in the Nintendo World Championship? 1990, Pittsburgh, PA. for me.
dang i live by pittsburgh but was born way too late to play😔
You should have sanded off the bubbles before painting. It looks less than nominal.
Watch out befor Nintendo finds another property to start copyright

All i'm saying is you better not sell it on the Internet, if you do, say it's a fake.
Blame it on the expensive designer scissors
Please tell me that's an after market shell
even crappy or cheap games make me uneasy seeing people cut up
If you had more time it would have been great to make a working cart, still a cool display piece.
From a hobby perspective I understand but this could be passed off as a real cart to idiots
Really you're making a fake
I would take an old zelda cartdidge
