WOW!! The Arc of The Covenant!!
When they were talking about the two copies of the 10 commandments and having two copies, one for Him and one for us, I couldn't help, but think of The Arc of The Covenant! Having the 10 commandments inside! God's own copy in The Arc of The Covenant that was also His seat and dwelling place among the people! And they carried it before them and it would defeat their enemies!
So many things to consider together!

I am a witness that the people of Israel has blessed parts of my gentile family. First my uncle and aunt, then my mum and me. Since I was little I learned that the Jewish people are the chosen people of God and Israel is important. Jesus opened my eyes to experiencing it and understanding it my self. I followed along with the Scriptures you referenced and thought you missed a key point about Paul..that he changed from causing people to suffer for Yeshua's name to being one who would suffer himself for His name. At the end, though, you did make that point. These pods for Israel bless us gentiles as well. Thank you.

the color purple for the word segula has to do with royalty. Interestingly the color purple is a mix of red(blood) and blue(the color of tzitzit symbolizing the commandments).
One can also interpret it as living(blood has life(nefesh) in it) the commandments is royal.
Jacob(james) calls the torah the royal law.

Though I can answer the question "What does it mean to take God's name in vain?". I can tell you on this one. Growing up around Mrs. Joyce Christensen, an accountant, as a child I listened to her scream out the words "GOD DAMN" practically everyday. I hated this.

I can somewhat understand your concern about 'jesting" over accents, but I don't think there should be any serious reason for concern, because most of us "Southern accented speakers" are fully aware of how unique our dialect comes across to other English speakers, even within our own country, and we should be well acclimate to the fact of how unusual it sounds to others. Lol
But I'm proud of it too, and take no offense when others make light of it.

Also, the short teaching where Jesus or Yeshua had preached about swearing by heaven and things in heaven or by earth and things on the earth. Most may think this is "swearing" but this is actually an oath, for we know we cannot keep our own promises.

I was a Jehovah Witnesse for 20 years, when the Lord in His Grace saved me from that cult. They are Really proud of bearing the divine name.. but teach a false gospel and obey to men instead of Jesus. I pray for them to repent and Know How to bear the divine name not in vain.

I guess my question for the ONE FOR ISRAEL crowd is: Do they think Jesus was an establisher of a free-lance outfit, I mean was He giving out franchises, or empowering a total free-lance church making machine? Or, did He establish a specific organization with specific leaders and authority? Were there people with authority? Was such authority real? Did Jesus say the organization He established would fail? Or did He say the organization He established would last? Was there a guy who got the keys? What about that? Any idea who has the keys today? Does it matter when a king leaves town and gives a guy the keys? I think scripture is quite plain about all these things, I think obedience requires a certain submission. You see the Messiah is very very surprising and He prayed in the garden that ALL would be one. Not a half-assed one, but a very quite really unified ONE. On this earth there is exactly one path and one place and one guy with the keys. Only one. IF you want the world to believe then you have to be ONE - HE said it. You cannot be ONE for Israel and not ONE for the whole world, you must get beyond tribal navel gazing. There is ONE place where you keep your tribe authentically and end Babel, only ONE. ONE place where every nation has a heritage under ONE God, and ONE guy with the keys. Face it. Want to convert the world be ONE really.

I had a dream a while back where I saw the dimly lit figure of Jesus and then I was looking over the land where Israel is. Like a satellite image, with no geographical marks. Then He spoke several sentences to me. As He did, I saw roughly half a dozen waypoints pop up around a particular region.
I couldn't remember what all He said, but the last three words: "-jewels of Judah."
In my dream, i interpreted the waypoints as being cities, and the word jewels representing those cities.. I don't know if that dream had any meaning or not, or if it was just a random dream.
I wasn't very familiar with where Judah was, outside of hearing that it was South of Israel or Jerusalem. And when I looked up the map for Judah, the region fhat showed where Judah was in the BC era was the exact area that those waypoints popped up in my dream.
I also looked up verses that used the words "jewels" and there were two that stuck out to me, from books I haven't read. Zechariah and something with an "M"? I can't remember off the top of my head. But one of those chapters does mention Judah.

Wow , what a great deeper look into taking Gods name in vain. I’m reminded of so many wedding parables , taking the bridegrooms name and loving him with all our soul . I never thought of the similarities between taking my husbands last name when we were married and this commandment , beautiful ! Hallelujah!

I took my husband’s name 47 years ago… I took very seriously my ‘bearing of his name and that of his family’s name’ …my family of origin was not at all like my new family.

Thank you very much for this podcast which I am about to listen to again. In the past 2 weeks I have been gathering all the ‘Salvations’ in English of the Tanach and finding the corresponding Hebrew spelling to find out how many literally carry in their Hebrew lettering, Yeshua’s Name -starting with the glorious statement of Jacob in Genesis 49:18. Each time I listen to OFI, another treasure is unlocked, and I am richer than before. I appreciate you all so much. Regarding Paul, I also see him as being blind before He met the Lord on the Damascus rd., in his spirit and mind. His encounter manifested in the physical what he was already on the inside. His 3 days of helplessness and blindness while he prayed was a real "set up" from the Lord, so that a Witness (Ananias) could be sent to show Paul God's purpose and power through His church. It is easy to see in such places like 2Corinth.3 Paul could draw from his own experience and testimony to benefit the Corinthians, and states the results of one turning to the Lord....2Co 3:16 Nevertheless when one turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away.
17 Now the Lord is the Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.
18 But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.
