    hello thank you for the video. i have a question i tried extracting my gis data from hec ras but they were saved as sdf file format. how can insert my sdf file to arcmap since i need a flood/inundation map?

      You need to convert it as either shapefile, or raster.

    Great tutorial,
    I noted one thing on Excel on computing wl with return period, you used Log instead of LN. The value WL is somehow lower, please correct me if I'm wrong

      Thank you for the query. Yeah, I used log instead of LN. I usually use log so that I can specify the base. For log10, there is an specific function called log10. Previously Ln was not there in excel. That's why, we used log and used the based. Now I can see there is LN option. But still I use log as a habit, even though I don't use excel for the calculation. Here, you are absolutely right that the value is lower as I forgot to use the base. You guys can use LN.

    Thanks you so much for your sharing. I didn't have the discharge (flow rate) &water level data at the exact location of the river. How to calculate return period in my case. It's a humble request to guide me.

    Hello, where do we get that "Ranked annual peak discharge" from in the first place?

    • @MdArifurRahmahn
      @MdArifurRahmahn  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      it's a statistical method. You need to have long time series data, specially annual peak.

    great video, how to calculate 25,50, and 100 year return period flood flow at hourly or daily level? for unsteady flow, I need a flood hydrograph at a different return period. thanks in advance

    • @MdArifurRahmahn
      @MdArifurRahmahn  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you for the query. Use the hourly maximum or daily maximum first; then, calculate the flows of the respective years return period following the steps.
