Since this is more of an axe than a sword, and it ist unusually thick, I suggest you name it 'the Butcher's Cleaver'. Plus, it's from Diablo, so this is a no-brainer.

No i did not, but i never build a racket before, and also did no research at all. Mine also got pretty heavy so there is also a lot to improve! I wish you much success and, above all, alot of fun building your own!
8mm is definitely fine! I used to use a 10mm blade, and it was one of the best blades ever made! It was a Joola Kool, and the composite was Texalium, a mix of Fiber Glass and Aluminum. What matters is the weight. How heavy is the blade and the fully assembled racket? Also, where's the review video?
That handle is gorgeous. Didn't know what you were about to do while glue dried, but made 3 guesses. Eat and smoke were 2. Fun video to watch. Thanks.

You should get rid of some wood at the top of the handle. Usually the wood angles down toward the surface there.
