    Dude you just saved me, I just bought the bishop power wand liner set and a critical battery for my hawk thunder to go fully wireless after 20 years on my coils -it broke my heart when it was so loose and couldn’t run my machine. When I get to the shop tomorrow I’m gonna unscrew that jack protector and hopefully all will be well 👌🙏🙏

    I love Critical as a company, they have made some decent PS over the years. However, I’ve also had 4 Critical Power supplies shit out on me in under a year of use. When I tried to contact them about warranty, they completely ignored me. Never hear back one time. That’s unfortunate and it’s just the way has been with Critical. Two of my employees both had their critical power supplies shit out in 6-8 months. Same outcome, no luck getting them repaired or replaced. Also, I think the price is very high considering what it’s made of. I’ve made a lot of small electronics over the years and the inflation in price is a bit much. I could see $250 for 2 units, but $500 for 2 units is a bit excessive. Also, all lithium ion batteries in these wireless power supplies are all made in the same place, China. The actual chance of those batteries venting is minuscule. I’ve been using 2x wireless battery backs for the last 9 months, 6-8 hours a day at least, 6 days a week, and they have been brilliant. Also, I only paid $200 for both of them. I’m really on the fence with Critical after having such bad luck with their power supplies. When they work, their brilliant, until the stop working. Great review mate, cheers!! Ian Ashalyn (Creation Tattoo).

      Hey buddy. Ahh that really sucks that you had such a crappy experience. Myself I’ve never had any issues with my power supplies so I’ve never needed to contact them. I will though pass this feedback onto them about the lack of service you received from them.

      Yes, the same by me. I have bought the wireless foots witch version. It's was the premium product since from critical. After 3 month nothing was working and after mail them I get never a feedback. I knowing lipo battery's getting bad over time. And they can not replace like the one in Cheyenne Sol unlimited. So I don't think I would go with critical. When it's broken after 6 month you lost 500 bucks.

    • @behorta88

      SAME HERE! Complained a lot about a wireless footswitch dead after a year. Sent them a bunch of emails asking for help with the issued unit, not a single word from them. I like my critical brick power supply, was even thinking about getting a universal battery to use on my sol nova, but how to trust such BAD costumer support brand??

    How is it with the edge x and direkt 2 with the rpg ergo grips?

    • @ThatTattooShow
      @ThatTattooShow  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It works fine with the edge x. So i would assume the direkt 2 would also work just as good as they have the same motor I believe.
      As for RPG ergo grips due to them being aluminium the balance would be off which would be the same for the Cheyenne grips. That why I added the stainless steel grip for a counter weight. So perhaps if Fk irons had a stainless steel version of the RPG grip that would help. Ultimately i think the critical batteries are better suited for a pen style machine.

    Ive been using FK iron lightening bolts and wonder if you have compared the two? WIth the lighten bolts I notice a slight drop in power compared to wired. Though FK irons told me that was impossible. Having my voltage at 8.0 for example. After about 20 minutes I have to bump the voltage up to 8.5, then 9.0 and 9.5 to feel the same hit. (I own 4 lightening bolts with the same exact issue with all) They are consistent as the drop is slow, but still I have compared 8.0 on my wired critical power supply to the 8.0 with the batteries and do notice a difference. Maybe Im crazy, as no one believes me. LOL Still i prefer using the batteries every day, but if I need to get a job done fast or have a lot of color packing. I switch over to wired. It could all be in my head. As that is what I am told. One other thing is that I occasionally drop the battery packs on my concrete floor. I have broken cheaper battery packs doing this, however the Lightening bolts will bounce and seem damaged but have been totally fine. (KNock on wood) How ar the Critical battery packs when it comes to dropping? Has anyone made a rubber cover for them yet? Sorry about all the questions but I am considering buying a couple of these.

    • @ThatTattooShow
      @ThatTattooShow  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi James, I’ve used the lighting bolts extensively and the critical ones also. I have to say that with both brands I’ve not experienced the issue you have had. As you are having the same problem with 4 lightning bolts have you considered it’s a possible machine issue?
      The lightning bolts are designed to provide consistent power output no matter the battery life.
      Same goes for the critical they are designed to provide consistent power output.
      As for have I compared the two of them, yes I have and there is a video on the channel.
      Hope this info helps you in some way.

    Hey bro quick question is it true to the volts ??I had bought a wireless battery pack before and compared the volts to my atomx and it wasn’t accurate, and do u recommend it for the bishop wand ??I have a packer and shader

    • @ThatTattooShow
      @ThatTattooShow  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      That’s an interesting question. Tbh I’ve been using it with no issue power wise. 10 volts felt like the same on the battery as it would if my machine was plugged in.
      Saying that I bought a cheap Chinese one of amazon for £50 and it was pure garbage voltage was bad abs no consistency with power. The critical batteries on he other hand are super consistent. Well going by their promo photos I would say yes to the bishop wand as it’s advertised with the battery :)

      @@ThatTattooShow yea man I was very curious so i had compared the one I had bought and yea I had order it from Amazon lol I just purchased the critical wireless battery pack I’m gonna compare the volts , only reason I ask was cause Franco from bishop had said on a live video that the knock off battery packs can mess up the machine in the long run so I definitely wanna also purchase the one he is coming out wit as well , good video review bro very informative i can’t wait to try out the critical wireless power pack

    • @ThatTattooShow
      @ThatTattooShow  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah man the cheap ones don’t have the same quality electronics in them from what I’ve been told so the current etc isn’t consistent. I think if you get the critical battery there probably won’t be any need to get the bishop batteries. I was very impressed with them.

    I’d rather buy 5 Amazon batteries for the price of one of those overpriced critical batteries. Robbing people. Literally. A TINY circuit board with a small lithium pack. Well I can get a lithium power bank to supply 10,000 watts AND RUN A TRUCK for the price of one of these critical batteries.

    • @ThatTattooShow
      @ThatTattooShow  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Each to their own i suppose. Although multiple machine builders have commented on the cheaper batteries saying that some if not most of them can cause long term issues. The inconsistent supply of power at certain voltage ranges can damage the motor on machines shortening the life span of the motor. From my experience in testing the cheaper ones, I’m yet to find an Amazon battery that provides consistent power output, doesn’t fluctuate and has accurate voltage output. If you find a battery from Amazon that can perform as well as these, please let me know which ones as I would like to try it.

    • @Cjmm007
      @Cjmm007 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ThatTattooShow I’ve been using a corded supply but I’d like to use a wireless but I’m not paying $250 for a tiny battery like that. Most corded wired supplies will still get some fluctuations. I’m currently looking for a decent wireless but there’s no way I can justify paying that much for a tiny battery. I will be on the hunt for sure. I’ve seen people say the inkclaw 2.0 is decent but it’s Chinese so who actually knows. It’s suppose to have jump start and .1 increments. It’s around $80
      I think if a company made an in between cheap and ungodly expensive battery they would get tons of customers and so far I can’t find one. It’s either $60 or $250 lol. Most of these high priced batteries are due to the brand. It doesn’t cost much for a small voltage regulator. I’d like for someone to chime in who has ran a cheap Amazon battery on their machine for a year or so and comment if it’s damaged their machine or anything. Would be good to know if it’s true. I’m sure if the fluctuations were to 15 to 30 volts it would damage the machine but most of the cheap ones won’t even go over 10 volts lol

    • @ThatTattooShow
      @ThatTattooShow  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I totally get what you are saying. I’ve used a few of the cheap ones and they don’t compare at all tbh.
      I’m gonna look into it more as to how it can affect the motors but I found it interesting that machine builders were telling me about the cheap battery’s causing issues rather than the battery company’s saying it.
      I think when you pay for the brand you also pay for the quality. They have a reputation to uphold and if the products are bad it gives the brand a bad name. Where as some of the cheap ones from Amazon don’t really care if the battery’s don’t work as they don’t have the same reputation etc as the big brands.
      Yeah it’s a small voltage regulator and other components but there is certainly more to it than just components. I know some company’s spend up to 2 years developing the products before they even get to the prototype stage.
