There is a Lyric Video out for this with translations. Made me appreciate this one a lot more when I knew all they said. Same with the XYPHER.
Also they are spitting in 3 languages which makes it more impressive imo. As much as the actual bars matter, delivery does as well. Definitely need to read the translations.

This is the one for Chill Bill. I honestly didn't care much for it when I first heard it, but knowing what they were spitting did make me appreciate it, nothing mind blowing though. Tape 3a, Two Tens from Maya and Harvey is better imo, but same issue subtitles don't work..

I think the ones that you'll like most are the 3A and 3B tapes - there they drop huge amounts of old school hip hop references - to the point where listeners who are not acquainted with 90s/y2k hip hop will like it less because they miss out on many of those references.
I hope you didn't think I was hatin' on the last vid, I def didn't mean to come off sounding that way if that's how it seemed; I just felt the need to point out that switching between flows and weaving 3 languages in the mix seem pretty insane to me. Anyways, glad you enjoyed this one Ace. I'm looking forward to your reaction on Tape 3 A&B, very bar heavy that will require some breakdown to fully digest what was being said.

Always love how you address and clarify your point. Pero I get you. The cadence is great, but as far as dropping bars, it is a whole different skill
While I wish that the XG Tape (featuring the rap line) and the XG Vox (featuring the vocal line) had closed captions in English (as well as some other languages), I think that the producers did not anticipate how viral these videos would become, particularly XG Tape 2. (At least they added lyric captions in a mix of English and Japanese for their later XG Tape & Vox videos.) It would help with the bar breakdowns. I personally missed a lot of the quick doubles from both Jurin and Harvey the first time I listed to XG Tape 1, and I get more and more tidbits of breakdown knowledge from the various reaction videos, including yours.
For what it is worth, I appreciate that you are holding their verses and flows to a high standard. ALPHAZ (XG's fanbase) are passionate, and while any fans wants to hear positive feedback regarding their favorites, I rather that you be you and keep it real and honest regarding your reactions. It's what makes them genuine.

Ironically, they did a lab test video for the xyphers which has the subtitles embeded and was live raps to show how real they spitting.

XG is not a hard core rap group. They are an R&B/Pop group that can rap extremely well given the content needed to execute, so that's how they should be viewed IMO. With that said, the fandom, "Alphaz" we're extremely protective of them, to a fault, perhaps. But not intentional. Many of us feel they have one of the best rap lines in (pop) and that sets them apart from the rest of the pop groups, especially given that they rap effortlessly between 3 different language, English, Korean, and Japanese. I would say look back at their rap videos and focus more on their execution over the "bars" as that where they shine. Very few of these pop groups will give you "bars" like Contra or something like that. With that said, if you haven't already seen, I would highly recommend "Show You Can" from the members Maya and Cocona. Pretty dope. Regardless, appreciate the reaction and honest review!
IMO we/they are protective because the “kpop word/industry” is so dismissive of them because the music is in English and the members all Japanese. While they deserve nominations auch as MAMA they will most likely never get that because of it.

Speaking in multiple languages and rapping in multiple languages while spitting doubles and triples are completely different things. So unless you understand Japanese and Korean, you have no idea what you are talking about just because you talk in Latin and English. Try flipping verse while switching to English into Castilian and Dominican still having meaning culturally within each accent. That's what XG does. Also, you are reading auto subs but not listening to the actual verses that are in English won't let you know how hard these girls went on this song.

The problem is your expectation is that you want these girls to be spitting like eminem with bars. Where thats not what they are musically. Stop comparing their raps to battle rap bars or Kendrick or cole. Their music and their raps is meant to be pop. Like thats what you don't get not all rappers got to spit some heavy bars. Thats not who they are.

Were not listening to a immortal technique type of music.
