    I learned so much from you. I had 23 kitchen cabinet doors and 11 drawer fronts I’m 76 years old and have been helping my husband with jobs around the house for 58 years. He passed away two years ago on Thanksgiving night. We had to let a lot of our repairs around the house go. After a year I knew I was going to have to sell my house. After taking all the doors off (maple ) I cleaned thoroughly and sanded lightly. I did this in my garage. Bought the large size Wagner paint tent. Went to Walmart and bought some inexpensive clothing racks. Then depending on if they were upper or lower doors I use a small bit and drilled two holes in each then I screwed small cup hooks in and hung them on wooden hangers. It was hard work I won’t lie, but they are so beautiful. My daughter helped me paint the actual cabinets. Cudos to you. After I had already got half way I see where you sell these drying racks. I used Valspar kitchen and trip paint. Self leveling.

    Thanks for the videos. I'm a long time painter myself and I'm still able to learn a lot from watching you.
    Have you ever tried tying back bushes and shrubs with those yard stakes for dogs? Wrap a tarp around them then take the wire or rope and pull them away from the house and stake it down, it will easily buy you another foot or two of room to paint.

    • @srharris88
      @srharris88 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      that works pretty well. In a lot of cases I just take the drop cloths, wrap them around shrubs and tie the two ends in a knot fairly tight. Generally it pulls them back far enough for painting.

    Hey Chris. Great video as usual!
    Do you only do one coat when spraying?
    If you do two coats, do you have to mask everything up twice to avoid bridging from the first coat?

    • @swiftspaintingtips5395
      @swiftspaintingtips5395 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I do 2 coats with a 15-30 min wait time between coats depending on the type of paint used. I would also cry if I had to mask everything twice...

    Why don't you ever use the swivel head on your extension? It's really helpful for getting those tough angles. Just curious

  • @jim87vette
    @jim87vette ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Thanks for the tips. When you clear the spits on the wall surface does it leave a shiner or is it thin enough to not matter? Also could you brush or roll it out and reapply? Thanks

    • @jamiedorsey4167
      @jamiedorsey4167 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I was going to comment on that as well. I think if you're an experienced sprayer you can put it on thin enough so its not an issue. But personally I'd recommend clearing it out on a tarp or some of your masking. Be sure to still swipe as you clear it though, the pressure is high enough on that thin stream if its concentrated to break through window plastic and get paint on the window.

    I noticed that you paint your soffits and walls the same colour. I never get that here in Canada. Is that an American thing?

  • @seasgarage
    @seasgarage ปีที่แล้ว

    How would you, being a pro, correct the overlap spots that got a little heavy? I usually take a rag with acetone and wipe out the spot a few inches outside and blend it enough to do a light spray to cover it, but I haven't sprayed on soffit or siding before.

    Is backrolling a must when spraying T1-11 exterior??

    • @chevyheavy79
      @chevyheavy79 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@bratvlad I was thinking the same thing but in his latest video he definitely did not idk...

    • @pjmisley
      @pjmisley ปีที่แล้ว

      If you are changing colors or the siding is really crusty and weathered then yes, use a thickie nap cover. If you have t1-11 in decent shape and are staying with a color or very close to old color then you can likely get away w no backroll. What's great about backrolling is that you just have to get the paint on the wall, doesn't have to be sprayed perfect. So you can shoot it close to avoid overspray and fix the coat by backrolling

  • @michaelbasso2568

  • @caezarlapuc8627
    @caezarlapuc8627 ปีที่แล้ว

    Just a thought. I wouldn't spray higher way above my head just to make sure I spray enough paint on the angles. You surely transfer 90% ( 10% it is over spray) of paint of flat surface considering how windy it is but on the edges if you dont bend your wrist the right angle than you leave 40% of paint, it is surely painted but with less amount.
    It is important to mention because the sun that's where it hits the most and it does hurt the quality. After all the paint is your siding protector from the elements.
