Love this show and the way you start to observe human behaviour Monica wanting to take a test until she gets the perfect result she wants is also a type of addiction/ocd, that’s no different than Dax moderating his body in ways that give him the perfect result.

The references to Stephen Seagal remind me of the time I had my hair in a ponytail during a family dinner with my grandparents and my grandfather told me I "look like that actor. You know, the action star... Stephen Seagal!" I was an 18-year-old girl.

This is my first time WATCHING the podcast and the setting is not what I pictured in my head. I thought for some reason it really looked more like an attic and kind of like your great grandma's sitting area. Not sure why my brain went that way.
Dax I love you to death, but this is the first time I’ve ever felt the need to call you out. You asked her whether or not you had responded in a maladaptive way and after she gave you positive feedback your revealed your true feelings. You said… And I quote, “ in the wake of that, I was like you really could probably apply that to everything.” 🫣😨 So you knew you had handled it well/positively. It is wild how ego can pop its head up and I want to get stroked and really it should be popped on the head and sent back down. I love you like crazy but that was not your best moment. Here’s why I am telling you this. I love you so much that I don’t want you to get “too big for your britches”. Your humility is so endearing and makes me want to learn alongside you. You read all these books and you know so much about so many people & topics that I’ve wondered if it was going to show up in the ego. This was one of the first time I could really identify it, but I have been noticing it more this season. I say that in love. Truly I love you both….like we are friends. (and I definitely believe in iron sharpens iron type of friendships:) Hopefully you don’t think I’m being a jerk with this comment because I would never want to be ugly to you.
