I would like to congradulate odontobook on the excellent work being done on these series of videos but this video tops the other 19 gorgeous videos! Detailed description of the procedure and of the instruments. Plus having a hot patient is the zenith of this extraordinary video! We want more content!
omg she is just so pretty! her teeth were already beautiful before braces but now with braces i think they make her look even hotter! also she is one of the few people that the combination of braces and glasses look well on them! she is SOOOO BEAUTIFUL!😍😍😍
why don't we get to see her with both arcs of braces put on? and why do we have another patient featured in the video? i think all the viewers would prefer her to be in the entire procedure!
+Odontobook do you have any more footage of the girl? getting the rest brackets put on or any further appointments like elastic bands or orthodontic headgear usage?
It seems like this is an orthodontic residency.... why do i think that?.... because Dr's practice on each other in school, Dr's like to have perfectly straight teeth before they finish school and because he is doing it all on his own and hes very slow like its a test.
Hi! That gorgeous girl should be thankful she did not get ligatures on her braces on the bonding appointment. Let me explain... Braces glued to the teeth with a wire aligning them can be painful to a person when he gets braces on for the 1st time because the arch and the teeth are not used to this new-found pressure that is applied them. What I do not get is why some orthodontists choose to put braces on both archs on some patients in the same appointment! The immerse pain on one arch (explained above) is enough to make someone not wanting to bite down with the other arc, prevent the patient from eating etc... Imagine the pain with 2 archs of braces on in a single appointment! We see in 3.48 in the video that they were enough brackets for the 2 archs of the girl but not not enough bands. Now I do not know if she got braces on the other arch since we do not even see her with the upper arch with braces. Anyway back to the point. Apart from the elastic bands and the archwire keeping the braces in place some orthodontists choose to put elastic or metal ligatures to move the crooked teeth. Imagine if she had also some extra metallic wires on EACH TOOTH tightly pulling her teeth. Poor girl... I guess some orthodontists want to cause unbearable pain to some patients. The worst scenario would be attaching power chains (metallic or ellastic) on the bonding appointment to brackets. But no that is a bit too far. The pressure would be terrifying
I think the reason most orthodontists put brackets on both arches is because they don’t want the patient to suffer for longer than they need to. If we placed said brackets on one arch they would suffer for 1 to 2 weeks, right? Then have to come back and put brackets on the other arch and then they would have to suffer for one or two more weeks. So essentially you are prolonging suffering of the patient. Where as if we place the Brackets all at one time the patient would only have to suffer for the first one to two weeks. Plus treatment is not longer because you waited to put all the braces on, it just seems like a time waster.
For something like invisalign, you don’t start with one arch at one time you give the patient both aligners (maxillary and mandibulat) at one time. It’s the same for braces. Tooth movement with braces is the same as tooth movement with an aligned system. The only difference really is metal in your mouth versus no metal in your mouth, it is still tooth movement.

Can you explained the reason you used metallic ligature instead of rubber? Thank you
In case more pressure is needed to hold a stubbon tooth
