Quick extra note, if you want a quiet, smooth ride for kids and shopping, maybe buy an SUV, not a off road double cab 4x4. What you need to understand is, you cant have the best of everything. Manufacturers have to find a happy medium with these multi-purpose vehicles. What you gain in smoothness, you lose in off road capabilities and what you gain in off road capabilities, you lose in road driving smoothness.
Even better, buy a wagon rather than an SUV! But the reality is that Australians are buying a lot of utes and the least we can do is inform families about what they're like.
Hmm. The storage unit in the dash is more than useful, not everything gets cooked in the Australian sun. Afterall, the dash is made out of plastic?? It somehow survives? Also, the indent in the dash makes it easier to use windscreen mounted sat navs and phones. Not all vehicles fitted with sat navs. Thus the reason for the 12 volt socket aswell.
Child anchor points are the american designed ones, kevlar loops. The child seats should be installed by a certified installer. Ive seen them do it in less than 10 minutes.
The fabric loops are awful, difficult to use and don't (and physically can't) hold the seat as firmly as the solid metal ones found on other utes and all passenger cars. Certified installers hate them too, and the ones in the HiLux! Did you know Nissan had to recall the Navara because their first attempt at these fabric loops snapped during crash testing?

Well said mate perfect explanation
This not for mummy..this for the beast
My 2017 Navara has isofix points but it's from the UK market
Yes they introduced them later here. UK ones are made in Spain, Australian ones in Thailand

Yeah but I wouldn't want to touch or use my phone after it's been there for a while on a sunny day!
Cool!

Good job keep it up hope you can test different Utes
Thanks Jian, I tested most utes now, still a few to go! :)
What's a Navawa?
It’s a work vehicle not a baby carrier.
Look at the Australian sales charts and then tell me people aren't using utes as family transport
Fuck, lookth like anyone can be an exthpert on anything nowadayth!!
These things arent even noisy! Change gears sooner instead of revving its tits out! 😂
Love these utes , BUT all utes are way to much money
Stupidity, would you even think of having a vehicle like that for babies and shopping

Except dual cabs are being bought and used by families everyday 👍🏾
2:00 - death trap for children, hence why I'm selling mine. How the justify these to be child restraints baffles me.
To be fair this year's model has isofix.
what makes it so bad?
Wrong choice of car... just get a mini van or suv for the kids
