Walz is the delightful, no-nonsense Midwest dad America needs right now. His personality on the stump will be marvelous and bring more and more people into the fold. Definitely. I keep saying, Harris needs to think less about what her VP can do for her and more about who's gonna be the least risk to this great momentum she's built so far. We need to keep that going and my fear is that Shapiro could disrupt it if too many people are unhappy about him being picked. Don't get me wrong, he'll help deliver PA and that's important. But it doesn't get her over the finish line on that alone. Walz may not come from a swing state but his energy and ability to appeal to both progressives and the blue-collar crowd could potentially help deliver more than just one state. As a voter in a state other than Pennsylvania, I haven't heard Josh Shapiro say a single thing that would make me excited to have him added to the Harris ticket. His only selling point seems to be "Electoral college math". Forgive my skepticism. Walz, on the other hand, is pretty damn inspiring. I'm from rual America and still work in rual America, and I think his message could really resonate with voters across the country that have been so staunchly aligned with Trump this past decade.
