    CXC is really hard on the students when it comes to poem selection. Thank you for bringing clarity. You are gifted.

      Thanks for the kind words! And yes, the poem selection is well beyond the high school level. However, we have no choice but to embrace the challenge!

    Thanks for the helpful analysis of this poem. I can't really say I see the beauty in this one like I do in South or The Woman speaks, but we gotta do what we gotta do.

    Not a single past passage or extract from past papers got repeated on the paper 1. I have no idea whats wrong with CXC this year.

    What is the poet doing in the first stanza and what is he musing about.

    • @AdamWebbCSEC
      @AdamWebbCSEC  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think he is musing about how relaxing the atmosphere is while relaxing in his hammock.

  • @jessijulie9087
    @jessijulie9087 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Hiiii.... question....what is the speaker musing about in stanza 1?

    • @AdamWebbCSEC
      @AdamWebbCSEC  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi! I think he is praising the atmosphere, the environment. Perhaps the grass, butterflies, and summer air enable him to feel a sense of bliss.

      @@AdamWebbCSEC hello again can you help me with a question? I'm doing a essay that compares A lesson for this Sunday and Birds Shooting season. So the question is..... explain one device that is used to present the speakers experience in each poem.

    I am not sure if this has relevance but. the eyes that were pierced , can that be a reference to the butterflies wings since they resemble eyes ?

  • @user1-mx1el
    @user1-mx1el ปีที่แล้ว

    Great video! Question, couldn't late grief that cannot speak possibly mean the butterfly she harmed?

    • @AdamWebbCSEC
      @AdamWebbCSEC  ปีที่แล้ว

      Depending on how you interpret the poem, the late grief could certainly refer to the butterfly's suffering.
