  • Villagers React to The Green Mile (1999) MOVIE REACTION! FIRST TIME WATCHING
In this heartwarming video, we captured the genuine and unfiltered reactions of a group of villagers as they watch the iconic film, "The Green Mile," for the very first time.
As the villagers settle into their seats, anticipation fills the air. The movie begins, and their eyes widen with intrigue as they are transported into the emotionally charged world of death row inmate John Coffey and the extraordinary events that unfold in his life.
Throughout the screening, we witness a rollercoaster of emotions from the villagers. They gasp in awe at the supernatural powers demonstrated by Coffey, his profound impact on the people around him, and the injustices he faces. Laughter fills the room during moments of humor, while tears flow freely during the most poignant scenes, evoking a shared sense of empathy and compassion.
From the intense performances by the talented cast to the film's thought-provoking themes of forgiveness, redemption, and the human spirit, the villagers are captivated by every moment. They engage in lively discussions during intermissions, sharing their thoughts, theories, and personal connections to the story.
As the movie reaches its climax, the villagers find themselves emotionally invested in the fate of the characters, hanging onto every word and action. The powerful conclusion leaves them deeply moved, prompting profound reflections on life, compassion, and the capacity for change.

They would not have believed that. For one, we are talking about an age where even IF Bill was a suspect, the black guy would have been thought of as the true culprit. Go look at things from back them about how they are “fiends who will rape and kill white women the first chance they get.”
Heck, go look at the Emmett Till case. Or the Scottsboro boys where 9 black teenagers were accused of raping 2 white women (who admitted they lied because they had been hopping states and doing sex work and didn’t want to get in trouble). All but the youngest were convicted on literally no evidence and sentenced to death, the 13 year old got life. But death was the sentence for raping a white woman.
So to think that they would believe it is BS and wishful fantasies.

Glad that Naveed and Mansoor were able to enjoy the movie to the end. It's quite emotional/sad for many who watch it.
I don't know if they caught this, but John Coffey wanted to die. The world hurt him so much that he was finished living. I think that's crucial to understanding his execution. The deathrow police officers would have let him go had JC just said the word. Sadly, the parents of the dead girls would never believe his innocence, partly due to the bias against blacks in America, but also do to lack of evidence. Said miracles were not witnessed by the parents.

I've seen so many react to it... truely is a favorite of mine... One looks at John and he is an imposing figure of a man... while Percy is a little shrew of a man... but as we can see... Percy while small... is full of ill intent... and just a horrible human being... while John is a gentle giant. But the worst person is still Bill... but yes it's too bad they couldn't tell the world that John was innocent and they had to carry out that order to execute him... but I think they were right in not telling their boss as there was nothing they could do about it. John just wanted to stop feeling all the hate and pain in the world ... I don't really blame him either.

He is defined as a "horror book writer" but in reality he is a profound connoisseur of the human soul (with its lights and shadows), which he knows how to describe like few others.

Storm of the Century and William Sadler: Shawshank Redemption, The Mist. David Morse: The Langoliers. Patricia Clarkson played Margarat White in King's remake of Carrie". Needless to say, it was a much different part.
    7. Goof: Electricity makes the body contract. Del wouldn't be able to scream. I know it' just for the movie because of the length of the execution scene.
    8. IRL James Cromwell is a vegan and didn't want to grill meat for the BBQ scene but
was told that in 1935 people actually ate meat so he agreed to have some on the grill.
    9. RE Percy: Couldn't happen to a nicer guy. KARMA's a Bitch. BTW Kudos to Doug Hutchison for the great job of playing Percy.👌EVERYONE hates him.
    10. John also rescues the other patients at Briar Ridge.
    11. IRL both David Morse and James Cromwell are about the same height as Michael Clark Dunca. They used planks, a small bed and smaller chair along with trick photography to make John taller.
12 The scene where John takes Mr. Jingles for safe keeping before Del's execution, they used a real mouse, and it pooped on Paul's shoulder, and he brushed it off.
    13. Now we know what the "day old is fine" dry toast is for.
14 EVERYBODY cries and has to take time to reflect. Congratulations you just experienced.
    the GREATEST MOVIE EVER. (GOAT)
    15. 4 words for you: Stephen King. You're WELCOME!

I hope Shawshank is next. Tell them American prisons in those days weren’t all bad but famous writer Stephen King wrote both Green Mile and Shawshank

Michael Clark Duncan unfortunetly died in 2012 of a heart attack. His size in that movie was technically created. He was 6'5" tall but not as tall as in the movie. He was nominated for an Academy Award for the portrayal of John Coffee.

The actor who played Coffey has sadly died in the past couple of years. He was perfect for that part....the gentle giant, we lost a sweet man.
